That piece reads as if its a few different articles thrown together at haste...as if BBC are expecting his debut tonight and couldn't fully formulate a flowing piece but had a lot of content and out him they wanted out there ready to say we told you so when he plays a blinder tonight.  Doubt they'll have got an inside track but love a conspiracy theory...Maybe Jack is starting?

That aside, the range of quotes from a various teammates and coaches proves the quality player he is, and that he'll continue to develop. Nice article to have in this day and age.

Sky news were trying to lump him in with Foden & Greenwood as a Covid bad boy last night. There is not one redeeming thing about channel.

If there was any justice, this evening our captain would be the cog that turns a Mondeo England team into an Aston Martin. Southgate is either too stupid to see it or too petty to do it.

Still, there’s a glimmer of hope until the team is announced later.

Ohhh ok, You are joking about the mighty Denmark?  After we started professional football in Denmark in the 80's, we have played each other 8 times, 3 won, 3 loses and 2 draws. Denmark has a European Championship. How many do England have?

im saying that we have far more attacking talent in our squad than we do defensive and therefore we should play 2 holding midfielders vs about 5 teams in world football

Iceland and Denmark are not 2 of them

England should be on the front foot during these games

We shouldn't play it against them either. We saw what happened when a great attacking team played defensive against a great team when atalanta and psg played each other. If atalanta played like they normally do they might have one instead they cracked and conceded 3 in quick succession. We need to to out and score more than the opposition. Against France and Germany we should end games 4-3, 5-3, 3-2 we need to our score them otherwise we won't stand a chance but cock-nose is too dull to understand that.

Agreed. Judging by other clubs they're rotating the teams massively which is the best thing to do as this is basically pre season and also gives a great chance to look a different players. Absolutely no reason why Mings and Grealish shouldn't get decent minutes. This is personal between Southgate and Villa. I think the fact he commented on the fans hating him for leaving for Middlesbrough proves that. GET OVER IT SOUTHGATE!!!!

He had called up Mings and Heaton in fairness.

Its definitely a one way beef between Southgate and Jack

Daily Mirror Journo reckons a 3-4-3 tonight, debuts for Phillips and Coady but no Jack or Mings.  The 4 is supposedly Trent-Arnold, Phillips, Rice & Trippier, with Coady, Gomez and Dier at the back. Southgate can get to f***.

With nearly a month of the transfer window remaining I’d argue it’s something we shouldn’t hope for.

Its a fair point and one might think that things happening behind the scenes regarding where Jack will be next year, might be the reason we are sluggish so far this window.

Until Jack comes out and says he is staying my knees will not stop knocking. If he signs a big new long term contract with us it will be the biggest signing we have ever made.

6 defenders and a defensive midfielder, then hope the front three can do something... jeez.

He might be given about 20 minutes max. If Jack doesn't get subbed on tonight then there's just no hope for him.

Not sure I want him playing a cameo out of position in a bad team. Deserves a proper 90 minutes and the chance to influence the game, not Southgate dripping the stink of his incompetence on him for 15 minutes in another tactical howler.
