The RJW63 Official Jack Grealish Appreciation Thread

The likely reality is this is more bravado that United cannot really afford the demands. It’s just window dressing to unsettle Jack. The same rubbish about Jack and his ‘dream move’ to Spurs being stopped in 2018.

I’ve just read a story at metro online entitled ‘what Grealish will tell Villa’ or something like that. It says that he will have showdown talks with Purslow and tell the club not to ‘stand in the way of his dream move to United’. It claims he’ll get £200k a week and that he doesn’t want to be a ‘victim of his own success’, if he’s ‘forced’ to stay at Villa after keeping them up.

They may as well have added ‘sources believe that the lifelong United fan will hand a transfer request in to the shitty little club, Aston Villa, he has already bought a house in Manchester, widely known as the best city in the world’.

Click bait rocket polishers

Some good cliches but sadly no mention of a transfer bombshell so I call bullshit 😂

McGinn on the wine, looks like he has discovered the Mediterranean diet. Expect him to play until his late 30s now 😉

Ive heard similar as regards to the sell to buy with plop, but I just dont understand it? They must of made record profits over the last year. Im sure they just go out and spend £200m if they wanted no problem

Their owners are supposedly very money orientated and don't want to put anything more into the club then they have to (would rather take it out). They were one of the very first clubs to go after the furlough option. Surprisingly you don't hear as much of that compared to other owners Glaziers/Ashley etc. They won't have made as much as you think as stuff like the Nike deal is nowhere as good as it made out to be (the details of it were made public in the court case). They also have a very high wage bill (basically the same as City/United) and will have been affected by no fans in the ground.

The simple fact is that Jack is realistically irreplaceable for Villa, because even if we have the money to spend on a top player we don't have the stature, European football or the wage budget to attract a replacement of the same quality. So if Villa are going to sell him it'll have to be at such a huge price they'd be willing to risk sacrificing our Premier League status which is worth £100m+ a season in TV rights.

Realistically his true market value is probably £50m, but his importance to Villa really pushes his asking price way up to £80m+. So if United want to buy him they have to acknowledge the damage they would do to our club, and they'll have to pay for that damage. Compared to Dortmund who have the pull of challenging for trophies and Champions League football, they would be more able to replace Sancho with a top quality player if he were to go, and so the damage to the club isn't as deep as it would be to Villa.

I think the board are absolutely right to hold firm on an astronomical price because the damage to the squad would be astronomical as well.

Pictured with tammy on holidwy with the caption #secretagent

I doubt there is any chance whatsoever of Tammy signing for Villa, but surely Jack posting that is not the kind of thing someone does who is leaving? (unless Tammy is the secret agent and Jack is going to Chelsea)
