He's garbage mate. That's why he gets stick. Fans haven't plucked him out and decided to pick on him.

Any time he's been asked to do anything beyond routine for us, 90% of the time he's cocked it up. That is the reality.

If he saves 3 pens and keeps a clean sheet, he will not be slagged off for misplacing a pass.

I hope he does not play.

He’s an international goalkeeper who has worked with a variety of professional coaches throughout his career including now the venerable Unai who have all seen qualities that he has and that they like so he clearly isn’t garbage just not to your liking.

Olsen can’t pass a ball under pressure for shit. He’s an old school shot stopper and totally unsuitable for the way we now play.

If he starts, Burnley will be frothing at the mouth in pressuring him and our defence will get very nervous and we will probably end up lumping the ball long, losing possession frequently and gifting Burnley the 3 points.

We relied on "greasy" too much when he was with us, we cannot and should not rely ever again on one player.

So if EMI is injured or suspended we have to have a reliable and confident keeper to step in, especially when we may have lots more games to play this year.

Trouble is it's the catch 22, how does a fringe player get experience if he doesn't get the first team "experience"?

If that was the case why haven't we gone in for a new keeper? Emi can sometimes look shaky when getting pressed, I'm sure it's something that is worked on in training time and time again. I'll say this, Olsen has improved with each appearance imo.

Have a bad feeling about this one.  Could be an early season banana peel to slip on for us.  Everyone is underestimating Burnley, but they absolutely walked the Championship last season while playing freeflowing footy.

In all fairness, it was Bacon Face who relied on Greasy too much, probably because they were both vile

We got hammered by one of the CL teams on the opening day in difficult circumstances followed by 2 emphatic wins against the worst teams in the PL and the SPL.

This game will be a better indicator of our current level so a good result would be excellent.
