Summer Transfer Window 2022

The existing transfer policy has seen us finish in the bottom half the last three seasons, we've built a midtable squad at best which has been fine for now, but going forward we have to start bringing in more quality, and players that can get us further up the league and closer to winning trophies, if that means signing a few older players then so be it. Likes of Man City, Liverpool, and Chelsea have plenty of experience in their squads as do most successful clubs.

Young was the first player we signed in his thirties since Heaton, the one before that and the last outfield player was Whelan, so it's not as if we've been signing a load of old timers, or even been linked to older players, the only one I can think of is Suárez, most of our transfer links have been to younger players like Gomez, Phillips, Bissouma, Kamara, David, and so on.

A comparison of Lacroix's passing to Konsa's, who I assume he'd be a replacement for. Overall, Ezri has a higher completion rate, but as you can see in the graphics, Lacroix attempts far more. The numbers show that Lacroix is more comfortable using his left foot as well, though he's still predominantly right. Whereas I sometimes wonder if Konsa is at war with his left foot.

Depends if he played Buendia.

Alan Hutton thinks we should sign Oxlade-Chamberlain

Fully expect the media to try to sell him to us all summer or until he goes somewhere else.

We already have the younger version of him in Jacob Ramsey.

The main difference between our squad and the squads of Liverpool or Man City isn’t age, it’s general quality. (Burnley have the oldest squad btw, lots of experience there)

Well pretty sure we aren't planning on filling our whole squad with old players, as clearly stated in the post quoted we've barely signed any players in their thirties in the last three or four years, and aren't even being linked to any players of that age other than Suarez.

We could swoop for that Raschica lad now naaaaarwich have gone down.

Is he any good ? 🤔

We have a number of players to play where he would. I don't see him playing ahead of them.

Worried for the summer and next season.

Don't trust anyone we have purchasing players. Who is next. Daniel Sturridge?

We won't get anyone as good as Bruno Guimaraes who was there for us for the last 18 months.

I too am not convinced that the right players will come in......but I hope I am proved wrong.

I don't think the Wijnaldum link has been that strong, just people putting two and two together and making lazy links, but even if he did sign wouldn't be the worst signing, one or two players in their thirties won't hurt us. We've got plenty of young players in the squad and no doubt we will sign more, we've also got an academy player in every position that has a genuine chance of making it at Premier League level, so our squad has a very youth look to it.

Its bound to be general quality......but there is one glaring difference they have Fabinho and Rodri as their CDM's.......where do we have that stature of player in our midfield?

Unless we sign specialist players to play specialist roles and in doing so, create the complete team......we will be here for a long time.

The one thing Saunders did, he signed square pegs for square holes and round pegs for round holes......we sign, who is available.

These players, we need, will never be made available......We have to make them available.

I’ve said it before and will say it again - this notion Gerrard has been brought in by his mate Purslow to rip up the much touted plan of blending youth and quality and will only be signing 30 yo has beens with plop connections is just plain self serving agendas and frankly BS… We have a conveyor belt of young talent hopefully to serve the first team for years to come coming through. If we keep buying up and coming project players that will only serve to close this pathway.

Description I've read seem to suggest he's very comfortable with ball at his feet and playing out etc.
