Our team is far too small and too easily brushed aside. Sadly, already looks like Tarkowski is a solid signing for Everton. useless Posted August 6, 2022 Share Posted August 6, 2022 We need a striker more than anything, it's not about a player that will score more than Ollie and Danny, it's about a player that will hold up the ball better than them, link up with our players better than them, that's what we're missing in the final third, someone that will bring others into play. Why is it the squad? The squad is capable, it is not being utilised in the right way with favouritism over performance and form. They have been for 3 seasons. Unless Gerrard addresses this quickly then he'll end up going the same way as Smith. Without any strength and leadership in the middle of the pitch we will never be consistent enough to get to where people expect us to be. Our midfield don't provide that. When we are playing well it is less of an issue. But when we are struggling the midfield just fade away even further.
