Match Thread: Villa v Man City

We totally lack pace and physicality everywhere which means we can’t get near them. There have been some promising signs though but the final ball has totally let us down. We need to be more direct and challenge for second balls. Big second half incoming.

Defensively naive for that second goal. Mings far too forward and him and McGinn trotting back whilst poor Konsa was caugh between going to Silva or the other attacker. Our line was far too high. Just keep both Central defenders back and get to half time only 1 down.

Strangely we've had the better scoring opportunities but decision making in the final third has been shocking, and greedy.

Keep this to a respectable scoreline now Villa and hope Brenda is as inconsistent as so far this season on Sunday.

Their squad is a different class, top to bottom better than ours. Best thing about tonight is showing Gerrard and Co where the work is needed in Jan. Will likely be 4 or 5 but just have to write it off and do better against Leicester.

Bailey is a crock too, always getting injured and his performance against Everton aside he's done f all since he's joined us. Same with Buendia who once again has been shite.

Buendia has actually done some good things but he then messes it up by being incredibly sloppy. So frustrating

City are superb. This is not a game that is big or small for our season. It was a free hit. It would be lovely to put up a real fight but F me, City are on fire

Yeah, this game is not defining our season.

In the long distant past, did we as a club do something to annoy these northern wankstains?

Because they never, ever, EVER have an off day against us.

Yup.

We need to sign players who aren't overawed by certain occasions and opposition.

You can tell some of them are just shellshocked.

Poor touches, decision making and panic have cost us dearly.

You can't afford to have less than a 7/10 against these if you're not to be punished.

Will we see a change at the half?

It's like they respect them so much that they second guess themselves

They started the match off as if wives had been shagged by Brummies ffs.

Ruthless!

I wonder if a part of the game plan was to know to rattle us from early!
