MarkLillis
Just reminiscing about the bad old days…..they feel so long ago now. Cant believe it was only this time last week he was still here! Seems like months but it is only one game. Ive not known a manager create such an atmosphere of hopelessness around Villa before. Not even Big Alex! That billy big bollocks attitude can only work if you’re truly brilliant, which he clearly wasn’t. From the reports that he was sacked right after the Fulham game and had to endure an awkward trip back home on the coach with the players, it seems that his abrasive character transcended to upper management. Not very classy from the board if true, but I struggle to find sympathy for him after his charlatan attempt to be our manager and the fact that he leaned on others (i.e. Beale) for his success at Rangers.

Pinebro
Comments like "Chelsea should wipe the floor with us" and going to watch Liverpool games when our U23 were playing are just ridiculous statements and decisions. If he wanted to succeed here he really didn't do himself any favors. Hilarious that on his first press conference he said he was all in.

He was like a new man Vs Brentford and has good reason to not be a Gerrard fan. Him, Mings & Buendia are almost certain for me. I think (hope) Digne somehow falls into this category too and we start to see a new side of him when he's back. Digne tweeted the most positive thanks and best wishes message to Gerrard. Indeed. He just needed one more night as manager, but instead he said to the driver "Take Me Home" Edited October 28, 2022 by TheStagMan
Popular Post AndyClarke
I overheard one of the coaching/support staff (I don't know who it was) talking to one of the Brentford coaches at the u21 game on Wednesday. When asked about Gerrard's game build up, he shook his head and said something like "it was all over the place". 3

dudevillaisnice
We kept him for too long really, should’ve got rid much earlier but I guess they (Purslow mainly) were desperate to make it work due to the connection.

rodders0223
I had a dream about Stevie G last night. Was in a pub when he comes banging on the window outside asking me to say to his face what I've been saying online. I shat it He then processed to enter the pub, get steaming drunk, and I then sat down with him and told him what I thought of him. Shitbag me.
Spoony
Very very harsh to blame this on Gerrard. He should never have been appointed by the higher ups, he simply isn’t up to it (yet) and signed players he thought could offer a quick fix and that totally didn’t work (and arguably should never have been sanctioned if the club were actually serious about recruiting players with resale value). also the criminal wasting of the Grealish money on over-hyped, over-priced shite happened before Gerrard and we also have a spine of the team that is championship at best. All the damage caused to the club is by the leadership and failure to recruit properly. They’re responsible.
