Completely scrapping the transfer policy just for this clown to do what he likes is also absolutely criminal from everyone higher up.

Probably an even worse decision than appointing this bloke in the first place.

You would think he was **** Antonio Conte the way we did that.

No wonder he gets spiky whenever someone mildly questions him. He's been used to people laying the red carpet for him his whole life.

After Gerrard gets sacked in the next few weeks. His Legacy will be felt long afterwords:

1) He leaves us with 30 year old in ridiculous wages
2) He leaves without any wingers
3) He sold out former player of the season and popular in the dressing room(Targett)
4) He leaves us with mess of a problem of having John Mcginn captain
5) He leaves us with losing the club the great talent since Grealish in Carney

The Gerrard years 2021-2022

Should have said no to him point blank when asking to increasing the average age.

Older players on high wages is not a business model mid table clubs should be doing.

Your first point is a legit concern. Older players on big wages are difficult to get rid off

But we signed proper men. (Proper men that don't need coaching)

Look we brought in Kamara. We got Coutinho for a small fee for a player of his quality, and we signed Carlos who was the best CB in a team that let in the fewest goals in la Liga. Hell digne was a captain and had been everyone's best player for the last 3 seasons.

None of those are bad signings. Gerrard just cannot get any production from them. I agree we need to bring in some more players but we didn't scrap the system for purchases. We bought 2 players to add some experience to the team.

Well we've brought I younger players and can't actually sell them either despite the fact that El Ghazi and Traore would both be very useful for some promoted teams looking for some goals.

What has he said post-match???

interested to see whether he has thrown the players under the bus like he regularly did at Rangers.

He'll just blame the ref for the penalty. In fairness it was a joke decision but we were terrible for most of today's game so most of us will see through that.

I’d like a manager who there is no fan fare over. Who is without ego. Who puts on elite level coaching sessions, improves players and goes out with a semblance of a plan. Why does there need to be a **** story attached with every incoming villa manager. “ His dad was steward down the Villa or he was one of the greatest Liverpool players ever “ I DONT CARE. This silly bollocks crap that we fall for every time .

Run the club properly and bring in the best people. Christ on a bike.

2-3of our players will be starting in world cup for some of tournament favourites and likes of Digne and Kamara could both make France squad. Buendia aswell.

Notice no one is saying 6th or 7th but there are loads of managers out there who could coach this squad to 9th or 10th imo as it's not that hard in normal seasons (DS was very unlucky in 20/21 getting 55 points and only finishing 11th).

We finished 9th in 2011 with 45 points

We were rubbing shoulders with the top 6 for most of the 20/21 season with guys like El Ghazi and Traore starting regularly who are now training with the kids or heading to Turkey.

We had organic growth and a long term approach.

And then he was panic sacked to get a big name in.

I agree, in part. In practice, his time had come, as he had had also reached the limit of his abilities, so it was the right time to sack him, but Gerrard was the wrong replacement. Oh well, back to the drawing board, as usual.

Let me get this straight Gezza. You've had your pre-season, now have a fully fit Leon Bailey and have been bolstered by one of the most sought after #6's in the game in Boubacar Kamara and we look worse? You're a **** fraud. Get out of this club now.
