There is a firm precedent for punishing clubs when they're poorly run or for actions of senior officials, why is this suddenly the exception?

So you think Sheffield Wednesday fans should be punished as the club is poorly run by the owners because it is simply the precedent?

But to answer your question ... it is a shitty precedent.

I'm not sure. But they were. As were Portsmouth, Bury, and countless other clubs.

But as soon as the media darlings faced a possible punishment, the PR drones on sky sports start spinning this yarn about it being unfair to punish the fans, and people swallow it hook, line and sinker. It stinks.

From what I read earlier they got a Swiss court to rule in their favour on 2 things, first was that UEFA have a monopoly on football and the 2nd that they can't be punished

Sounds like they threatened to go nuclear and UEFA aren't convinced that they'll win

Knew the Premier League would bottle it...
£22m "fine" to be shared between the 6 clubs who tried to break away to the European Super League?
No points deductions, and a fine which works out as pocket change to some of these clubs...
It should have been £22m each... and a 30 point deduction... straight off the bat...
Except for Spurs... Who should be demoted to the Mr Whippy Division 2 and have their stadium bulldozed....

Yes... We almost were when some charlatains managed to convince whoever is in charge that they fit the bill for "fit and proper" (whatever the term is) ownership...
Before NSWE came in, we were fooked... Balls to the wall... Levy was greasing us up for Grealish...
Not our fault as fans... but it is what it is...

Now six of the biggest clubs in the country try and pull a fast one, and they get a shared slap on the wrist?

Its bollocks mate

Not that there was ever any risk that UEFA would actually punish them but still.

European Super League: Juventus, Barcelona, Real Madrid admitted to Champions League despite involvement in breakaway project

Juventus, Barcelona and Real Madrid have been admitted to next season's Champions League despite their involvement in the proposed breakaway European Super League project.

Admission letters have been sent to all Champions League participants, European soccer's governing body UEFA has said.

Disciplinary proceedings against Juve, Barca and Real over their involvement in the proposed Super League have been suspended by UEFA's independent appeals body.

UEFA opened a probe against the three clubs but last week it suspended proceedings after being notified by the Swiss authorities of a court order from the commercial court in Madrid obtained by the legal entity European Super League Company SL.

Nah, that's because we are shit at football.

Just a shame they can't hire a coach we know would turn the side around. But the Norwegian FA are such a bullshit organisation you have no idea, so they won't. Not in my life time.

So the great and powerful UEFA have dropped all charges against the ESL6. No one has to pay any fines and it's all been forgotten about.

Very pathetic capitulation. But clearly the clubs are just more powerful than the organisations that are supposed to be in charge of them. Football is very broken

If UEFA can't punish clubs who mutiny against their organisation, is it any wonder we find the biggest clubs and the biggest international sides getting 'the benefit of the doubt' from referees when against lesser sides. It's all so horribly corrupt, and will probably only get worse, now the big teams know they can act with impunity vs a toothless UEFA

The 'fines' imposed were so small they basically got away with it anyway

So the only punishment is that they lost their place on the UEFA committee

Which isn't even a punishment seeing as they quit themselves, they just haven't been given their seat back

They could have at least done some seemingly punative punishment like made the signatories step down, the PL could have made Levy not be welcome in their corridors
