I agree. What has changed in your opinion? In your previous post, you thought there would be less divisiveness in 2028. Why would it decrease in the next presidential cycle? Especially if trump loses again? Trump wil run again (unless he dies from too many diet cokes), but whoever will be the democrat candidate might not unify their party as much as Biden does right now.

That seems very optimistic. Many thought that after his loss in 2020, Trumpism would decline. But here we are 4 years (and an insurrection) later and he’s running again. it will take a lot more time, I fear. If Trump loses again in 2024, he might run again in 2028. If not him, DeSantis or others might try and run on the same divisiveness. It is the main model of gaining votes within the GOP these days.
  3. O’hares contract is running out this summer. He’s been doing well at Coventry (bar his long injury) so I wouldn’t be surprised to see lower PL teams interested. Or he could extend if they get to and through the play-offs
  4. Rumour in Belgium that we are pushing for Mandela Keita, 21y old DM from Antwerp. They need to balance their books, that’s why Vermeeren is also leaving mid season.

Interesting hypothesis: what if Haley wins? I think she could beat Biden as moderate republicans can accept her and far left dems would be less motivated to vote because the alternative is not Trump. Extreme republicans would vote for her to own the libs. (Unless Trump tells them not to) it would also be curious to see the future of the GOP, as president Haley would become the leader of the party. Would she be able to bring back some common sense? I know she is more establishment, but would she be able to bring the maga crowd back to reality.

I thought Trump only made ‘perfect’ calls I might be mistaken, but I thought Texas was attracting more companies with it’s lower taxes. Drawing higher educated people who would have gone to California. Thus also attracting a more centre/left voting audience. This will not be clear on short term though. Florida seems deep red now, but was purple not so long ago. I agree though, many states can already be assigned to either party before the election. But they will not necessarily be forever that color.

California is also pretty safe for the democrats. I don’t think Trump expects to win there, even if it holds a lot of electoral votes. swing states, that would really be interesting to see.
  8. A lot of focus in previous posts on the European teams. That only covers half of it. A league is as strong as its bottom teams. My guess is even teams like Burnley would be able to do well in the conference league. also, it’s not because PSG plays the semi final of the CL that the French league is top class. PSG, Bayern, they walk their respective leagues every year. In Spain, there’s 3 teams (this year is a strange one). In Italy, there a bit more rotation at the top, but never a team that could wint the CL. The PL has the Sky6 that could win the CL if they have a good season, now us and Newcastle are added to that. Chelsea and ManU are in a dip, but still decent teams who could do something in the EL or ECL. So there are more teams competing. plus the money makes it that a bottom PL team could buy most players in Italy or Spain.
  9. IMO palace is the ultimate 14th place team. They have just enough to stay out of a relegation battle (Eze, Olise, Guehi) but never enough to achieve anything. They have been in the PL for a while now, without making much noise.
  10. Not true they have been a financial mess for a while. He had to manage them on a shoestring, with the main transfers being loans. He did alright at Anderlecht.
  11. He did rebuild an Dyche burnley team and won the championship in style, se he is above the shit manager category. Also, when he took the job, it wasn’t considered that attractive because the rebuild necessary. This of course did have the parachute payments to make it easier. he made it a good job to his own credit. He now has to prove he can do better by keeping them up and imo did not do the best of transfer business (no PL experience) and is not adapting his style of play so far

I think it’s because you usually don’t go after someone’s family to score political points. No idea how old the daughter is, but if she’s a minor that would be a cheap shot. I think most of them are only there for the exposure. DeSantis was the only one with a shot, but he has only shown his lack of charisma since his campaign started.
  13. Exactly, they should have gotten two or three Ashley young-type of player instead of another high potential from Belgium.
  14. Apparently, the shooter works as a fire arms instructor. He’ll have had access and knows how to use his guns. Bit different than usual.
  15. The game is suspended apparently
  16. Looking at their squad, they have some players who would easily be picked up by other PL teams. Onana, Danjuma, Pickford, McNeil would find other clubs if they go down. Add the experience of Young, Gana, Tarkowski and they should be doing better. Luton, Sheffield, Bournemouth don’t have those kind of players.
  17. SMW was the first game I owned, as it came with the SNES we got at home. I spent hour on that, first just to get through the entire world, next the star road after which all koopas looked like Marios (or something like that). That was such an epic game. I had played SMB and SMB3 at my friends’house before this. So we later also got the SM All Stars on SNES. 1 and 3 in the SMB were still awesome, but the freedom of SMW, where you choose to go back through the entire world was better. SMB 2 was a bit different, not as good, but still cool as it was a change from the ‘regular’ Mario games. i don’t want to know how many hours of my childhood were spent on these, but I sure my dad could still moan about it.
  18. Correct, I was thinking about CL only, while the Spanish do very well in the EL as well.
  19. Of those Spanish teams, how many were Real or Barca and maybe Atletico? I’m guessing it’s more diverse when it comes to the English sides. the strength of a league is all teams in it, not just the top sides. PSG is not an indication of the French league. The PL is strong because of the TV money, so teams like burnley can go shopping in France or the Netherlands for fun. In Spain or Germany, mid-table teams don’t even have that kind of money. The basis comes (imo) from a large fan base paying Sky a lot of money every year, just because football is so popular in the UK (with even in the championship crowds of 20k). Add the interest from outside the Uk for TV money and you have very wealthy clubs.
  20. Over a 100 hours in, I still like playing it. The islands and the depths could have been a bit more lively, but other than that I still enjoy most of the quests.
  21. Make sure we know what is ‘big’ and whatvit’ll be in 2 years time. Two years ago we thought 100m£ was extreme, now you get a player with 50 PL games for that money.
