Since Grealish moved to CIteh, Pornhub must be getting a lot more traffic.

I'm sure he's too busy getting to know his new team mates, and the delights of Manchester to be w#nking himself silly on Pornhub 🤣

Very quiet today.

I don't think JWP is by any means a world beater but I imagine he'd be our best central midfielder if he came to the club. Seems to have a lot of very desirable attributes and he will hit the ground running.

....and link up with Ings.

@TRO … what do you reckon? Would he fill the void?

I have no scouting experience, but it seems to show the club ARE looking at the type of player, I crave.....they wouldn't be doing that unless they too, thought there is an issue to improve.

I haven't seen him play, but many ticks in the boxes.....we''ll see.

All about value now I suppose. You could buy Matar Sarr and Doucoure for the price it would cost you to sign JWP.

I have to say, I am heartened we are looking at these types of player....I hope its not in vain and we sign one.

Me too, I just still have nightmares of that time we signed all those French players who in their own right, were decent players, but they didn’t gel and it was a disaster.

For all the Doucoure and Sarr’s that you sign, you need to sign players like JWP and Buendia to balance them out - that’s the expensive part.

Bailey is the one that I worry about settling. He’s obviously a terrific player but if it takes him a while to bed in, we will be heavily reliant on Buendia to create.

This season is going to be…interesting.

That’s a genuine conundrum,  and I’ve been all in on JWP.

For immediate impact this season it’s probably still JWP. Looking any further than that it makes sense to bring in and develop both for a future midfield of

—Sarr————Chukwuemeka

———Doucoure

Wow.

i can't agree with traore...take a look at his highlight reel from last season. the things he did, IMO, young is simply not capable of. traore will always frustrate...but he's got some serious ability

Young has more consistency in his game.....but Traore does have some filth in his game, on occasions.....hard to replicate some of the stuff he does, but does need to find an edge to his game, but he can open up that " aladdins lamp" at times and unlease stuff only the worlds best players can do.

He is an enigma, at present, but I hope he can work on his game to find more consistency, he's a bit like a Nobby Solano, in as much as  unadulterated talent.

I agree with you that we need a dominant midfielder, for too long now now I’ve felt our midfield to be too soft. The trouble is lots of these sort of players don’t particularly have too much technical ability, and retaining possession is another issue we have had for a while.

I don’t know much about the guys we’ve been linked with from France so can’t comment, but dominate midfielders who can also dictate play generally come at a premium. If these guys can do both great, but from my UK only knowledge, I think JWP ticks a few boxes.

My worry with Bailey, is coping with the rigours of the Premier League, I think too many fans under estimate, the physicality of it.....Talent alone is not enough.

His game will be all about pace and timing and linking with team mates, that may take time....But equally, I am warming to the Kid JPB, he is coming along nicely and stealthily......It might help to rotate them, plus Ashley to help blend them in.

Not sure what this rush to replace the entire midfield is. McGinn and Luiz are very good players.

Agreed, but I don’t believe they complement each other. For instance, I believe both are better players than Nakamba, but I think I most would agree that McGinn looked better with FN next to him at points last season.

I don’t believe we need to replace the whole midfield, but at the moment the balance isn’t right. We can’t pass through teams in the middle of the park, nor are we particularly solid (people will point the number of cleans sheets but I genuinely put that down to the defence, the midfield is easily bypassed).

We need one that can bring it all together

Nothing wrong with a bit of competition, Viila isn’t the holiday camp it once was.

I don’t disagree with that, what I would say however is the German league is probably the closest thing in Europe to the PL in terms of intensity, so hoping Bailey will be fine
