Scott Hogan must be seriously pissed, he’s never gonna get a game now Sloth’s banging them in. Four goals so far is a shite return for a supposed PL striker. Shit, wait, even Hogan has actually scored 6 this season! What an embarrassment. Just a pity they are not tuned in to the intelligent runs that Hogan makes 4 year deal

Strange really as on paper It looked like they'd made some relatively decent signings in the summer, I wasn't expecting them to challenge for promotion, but was expecting them to be doing better than they are doing, the one signing that didn't really makes sense from a footballing point of view was Deeney, and pretty sure their form has take a sharp turn for the worse since he came in, I saw one of their fans joke that they might give him the managers job, that wouldn't actually surprise me if they decide to sack Bowyer. The signings looked horrific at the time. The champo is a competitive league. You don't get anywhere signing journeymen and league 1 players. Craig Gardner technical director. Cant remember his name, but there's a Talksport presenter who is a SHA fan. Apparently there's growing disillusionment from the manager at a complete lack of funds. What did he expect? 40 million a year from a club who can't even afford a roofer? Manager dissolution does trickle down to the playing squad. This season might actually be the season.
useless
They're a team that's usually involved in a relegation battle, they weren't about to sign a bunch of players that could get them challenging for promotion. Jordan Graham had scored twelve and assisted six in the previous season in League One, Chuks Aneke had scored fifteen for Charlton in League One, Ryan Woods has proved himself a capable Championship player, all three were free transfers, they also brought in some good young players on loan like Sarkic, Sanderson, and Tahith Chong. Compared to what their previous transfer business it seemed pretty sensible, no big fees, and no players in their thirties, a bunch of players who in theory should do okay at championship level and help them finish higher up in the table, that changed when they signed Deeney of course, but before that their signings certainly didn't look 'horrific' unless expecting a team that's constantly struggled for the last ten years to buy a bunch of players that's going to suddenly have them challenging for promotion.

I think it's very tough now with parachute and funds drying up for clubs like Blues...but that's were you've got to be better than best with recruitment. If you're going lower leagues you need to get young players who can kick on or sell. Signing players approaching late 20s from league 1 isn't it. The fact Bournemouth (if you've ever been to their ground you'll know) are a financial giant in the Championship says everything you need to know. Norwich will walk the league next season, and it looks as though we might get 1,2 established PL teams fall as well if Brentford and Watford keep playing well. Almost getting impossible for a Bham / Cov to get promoted unless they sneak through the playoffs. Edited December 22, 2021 by pas5898
