Signed his 1st professional contract with us in 2018 as a kid and was bought in through all youth setup so just because he doesnt support the villa dont make him one of our own. He is more one of ours than zaniolo was

He signed at 16, I count one of our own as someone who came through our youth teams (nothing to do with who they support), from a young age.

Hindsight la-de-da but I wish we had Philogene in and around the squad. Our forward options on the bench being limited to Bailey and Traore is not it.

From what was reported at the time emery told him he would get game time with us and be a big part of the squad but he decided to leave for regular first team football.

Fair enough, hopefully we can tempt him back if he continues his fine form!

The Hull chairman is being clever with his wording to make the deal seem more benificial from Hull point of view. He says the buyback is £15m if they're promoted, but that doesn't mean that there isn't another buyback for a different fee should they not be promoted. It's highly likely that there will also be another buyback option for a different fee should they not be promoted. Emery kept going on about it being important that we have control over his future, so we aren't going to leave it so our ability to buy him back depends on whether Hull get promoted or not, as we have no control over that.

Care to share the visibility of the contract you seemingly have? 🙂

There's a Blake Richard Philogene-Bidace of Spurs in the current England U15 squad. None of our players in there, but there will be another two camps with completely different squads in December and Januaryy

How much experience would he have got if he stayed......I think it's a great move for all parties

Great move for him for sure. Delighted for him he's doing exactly what he needed to when dropping down. Same as Archer did, show you're too good for the level.

For us there's two elements at play:

  • Conditions of the buy back
  • Is he actually already ahead of Zaniolo and Bailey? Time will tell. He's no doubt on about a tenth of the wage of both so he already had a nice little advantage there.

This could prove to be a bad error.

Ideal scenario, he continues and we bring him back a better player, ready to challenge for a place in the XI.
