dont_do_it_doug.
It’s like we’ve stuck Traore in a machine, kept the best bits, toned down the more ridiculous elements and cleaned up the rest of his game up in the process. Oh and we’ve given him a touch of pace and a second foot. There’s always a worry with young wingers that they’re only ever a couple of ropey performances away from signing a 4 year deal with Bromsgrove, but this one has me excited. I want to see what he can do with a start against Premier League opposition.

Sure it is but at the same time I don't think throwing young players into starting 11's in the PL is the way to go, which is why it rarely happens. You call it throwing in, I’d call it earning the shirt. I am in favour of the latter. But I suspect we will see more cameo roles first.

It is the sort of thing someone like Bruce would do, it isn't in my opinion how you should bring through a talented young player.

a m ole
Lad came through the Pro:Direct Academy, I love his attitude and desire to make it and has the talent to go with it. Got a great career ahead of him regardless of who it’s with.

He only ever did it in cup games, with the fringe players who never gave 2 hoots. We would get beat and then he could argue he gave them a chance. O’Hare was criminally under used by him in the Championship.
Skruff
Have to say I'm more impressed by JPB then what i was by Grealish at a similar age.

I think he probably plays a bit too far up the pitch for Bruce’s liking
ThunderPower_14
He's in a perfect position to get regular minutes off of the bench without being thrown to the wolves this year, same as Carney. The both might get the odd start as well, and both have shown they can hold their own. He's really confident on the ball and a clever player. Ponky
He's got some serious pace too. It's not blistering but he really has a knack of getting in behind the defence. He kind of glides across the pitch too.

jimmygreaves
Just to piddle on everyone's collective bonfire.... He was up against Barrow. He played great and looks a real talent but the performance he, and the team, put in was against very lowly opposition.

Even if they did, which they don't, starting for Dortmund in the Bundesliga is very different to starting for us in the Prem. I was wondering how Dortmund get all these players highly competitive so young there so I decided to look how they brought through Jadon Sancho. He was signed from City youth team when he was 17, he then played some youth games for Dortmund in earlier part of the 17/18 season. He made a few benches and a couple of late sub appearances getting 6 and 10 mins. Then from early 2018 a couple of months before his 18th birthday he got his first start and started 3 in a row, before being back on the bench and getting 18 mins. He then missed 5 games with injury and was back in with 2 sub appearances and playing the 90 in next game and got goal and 2 assists and started the final 3 games. He had taken his chance was a regular starter in the following season. So with JPB and Carney Chukwuemeka they will have seasons like Ramsey did where they will start out getting more and more familiar with being a part of the first team squad in the earlier part of the season. Get preseason games and EFL cup games and some off the bench mins. They like JJ at Wolves one will get a start. Like Archer yesterday you have to take these chances and if JPB put in a brilliant performance he'd have to start the next game and like Sancho did in the matter of a few games in a few months you're a star and the following season a regular starter. Ramsey got his game time last season and did ok, but he never had that stand out performance where you couldn't drop him for the next game. This season he's had his 45 mins against Watford that he was excellent and then Newcastle he was again excellent. He has to start against Brentford now. These young players will get their chances, if they impress they get more, if they're ok they wait for the next chance and the next chance like JJ has done.
