Yes and Benrahma, but we couldn’t afford them.

its not a go at you at all, but this script is getting boring now.

Wasn't Maupay the same price if not less than Wesley?

Wouldn't want the little scrote in the shirt myself though.

I'm not sure on hourihane, from what I've seen since lockdown he has been extremely guilty of hoofing the ball in to space when we are under pressure although I think he's been solid elsewhere.

We actually have a foothold in the game so I'd be reticent to change anything tbh.

In my view hourihane's best position would be just behind the striker, he would have less defensive pressure and be in a better position to either make clever runs into the box or shoot from long range.

Attacking wise there is no patterns of play.

It is all hit and hope.

I disagree the tactic is simple. Hit them on the counter but in to their full back spaces. Ultimately our execution hasn't been the best. One of the reasons is our wide men are starting too narrow for that tactic to be successful. Ironically it also makes it an easier pass when you start wider and run in rather than in to out.

McGinn is still slightly off the pace, I'd have Hourihane and Samatta on after an hour or so.

The question is how we cover the flanks when the gas goes on Trez. Maybe leave Davis up there and put Samatta down the wing.

I was thinking McGinn is having a great game, but maybe it's all relative given how poor he was the last few matches. Conor would in no way be a good option to bring on until we are already behind. He'll expose us horrifically.

We should praise Villa, defensively they've been very good as you'd expect from a Dean Smith side.

You can tell Lawro has never watched Villa Brentford or Walsall before 🤣

He would have cost more but only us and Brighton were in for him. Since we signed wesley we weren't competing for him so he went for cheap to Brighton. Would have been 25 mil if we were afte rhim

I thought Smith picked Wesley instead of Maupay.

Amazing how these old blokes steal a living pretending they watch football.

Transfer fee yes.  But his agent’s fee and his salary demand was massive.
