chrisp65
Ah that makes sense, I was wondering who would use the term UK when they meant england. I think the absolute hotspot winner at the moment is Newport / Gwent, they’re close on 1% or 100/100,000.
snowychap
No, no, no, no, no. This is not what is needed. Not at all. Johnson rehires election chief to sharpen coronavirus messaging Quote Boris Johnson’s revamped communications strategy to combat coronavirus will be run like a “political campaign” after he drafted in a new team of advisers spearheaded by his Australian former elections chief, senior sources have said. Following criticism over mixed messages and selective briefings in recent weeks, the prime minister and his key adviser Dominic Cummings recruited Isaac Levido, 36, who ran the Tory general election campaign in December. Having already a “grid” of communications centred on the daily press conference, the government is now looking to bring in more experienced campaigners to sharpen the message – with the aim of boosting both public health and the prime minister’s standing. ...more on link It's not a political campaign. It's about gaining and keeping the public's trust. It's about being honest. That's so people believe you when you warn them about something and believe you when you tell them about something positive that is happening. If it were just about honing the communications so that it is better for the public then fine but it will likely be about honing the message so that it is better for the Prime Minister and the Government and if so, it is a dreadful call. People falling into this extremely vulnerable group include: Solid organ transplant recipients. People with specific cancers: people with cancer who are undergoing active chemotherapy people with lung cancer who are undergoing radical radiotherapy people with cancers of the blood or bone marrow such as leukaemia, lymphoma or myeloma who are at any stage of treatment people having immunotherapy or other continuing antibody treatments for cancer people having other targeted cancer treatments which can affect the immune system, such as protein kinase inhibitors or PARP inhibitors people who have had bone marrow or stem cell transplants in the last 6 months, or who are still taking immunosuppression drugs People with severe respiratory conditions including all cystic fibrosis, severe asthma and severe COPD. People with rare diseases and inborn errors of metabolism that significantly increase the risk of infections (such as SCID, homozygous sickle cell). People on immunosuppression therapies sufficient to significantly increase risk of infection. Women who are pregnant with significant heart disease, congenital or acquired. Shielding is for your personal protection. It is your choice to decide whether to follow the measures we advise. Individuals who have been given a prognosis of less than 6 months to live, and some others in special circumstances, could decide not to undertake shielding. This will be a deeply personal decision. We advise calling your GP or specialist to discuss this. The NHS in England is directly contacting people with these conditions to provide further advice. If you think you fall into one of the categories of extremely vulnerable people listed above and you have not received a letter by Sunday 29 March 2020 or been contacted by your GP, you should discuss your concerns with your GP or hospital clinician. We understand this is an anxious time and people considered extremely vulnerable will understandably have questions and concerns. Plans are being readied to make sure you can rely on a wide range of help and support. I called my GP to discuss my concerns but couldn't get past the woman on reception who simply said the doctors were too busy and were not giving out any notes or documentation to do with Coronavirus. I think/thought we still had them - may be wrong, obviously. Central government/Health Ministry may have gone around/over them in the present scenario. Edit: The gist about how markets don't work in these circumstances as per Cuomo's comments (and yours about CCGs) is right, I'd agree. Yeah, looking at it, you're absolutely right that they're still there, I guess we are just overriding them for corona purposes. Still, a definite feeling of 'there but for the grace of God' listening to Cuomo there.

These people react to triggers, their job is to stop you, they are gate keepers or sentries. Step one, call up and ask to speak to the practice manager Step two, be polite but don't take no for an answer Step three, tell the practice manager if the note isn't forthcoming, you will have no option but to inform the CQC (use the initials, it makes them think you know more about the system than they do), elain that the note should be straightforward as it's an already diagnosed condition and you are trying to actually save appointment time with the doctor. Just get past the gate keeper 1
