Especially given how much football he's missed out on over the course of his career. Don’t see it in his first season back after a year out - can’t see anyone putting up the cash for him and think he’ll be happy to compete for a place. What you say may come true summer of 2025 if he can’t get enough games but I still think a season easing back in slightly will have been beneficial to him. And that can include plenty of big games - look at the list Lenglet has played in, in PL and Europe.
avfc1982am
Surprised to find this thread on page 3, especially as he doesn't have any bristols. Anyway I think he's also been very poor for a number of weeks tbh. Not nearly as vocal or imposing as he can be, instead he's plodding around looking a little out of sorts.
Leeroy
I am a fan of Ezri, he's such a classy and composed defender when in possession, and for me one of the best ball playing English centre backs. Probably only Stones is better on the ball. BUT....he is so passive defensively. He doesn't seem to be able to anticipate the danger and whilst he may have led the defence well earlier in the season that seems to have stopped. It didn't help that he was playing with Lenglet instead of Pau but that's no excuse. He needs to work really hard on improving his defending. On the ball he's great, off the ball he has some real issues he needs to overcome.
The_Steve
We needed him to step up, especially with Pau out. He’s just as capable for some of the goals. He’s experienced enough to be less passive and I don’t accept that it’s all on Olsen - he’s been hot and cold for weeks
richp999
Has Ezri (auto corrected ) ever payed in the CDM role ? I can’t remember seeing him there. Seems like he would be a good replacement whilst Kamara is out - for all the reasons above. Are we missing a trick here? He is fairly comfortable on the ball in defence, translate that to the ares of the pitch where you are probably pressed and marked more than any other part of the pitch, other than maybe the striker, and I don't think it would work. Yes I guess.. I'm sure the Don's though about it and decided against it... I just don't remember ever seeing it tried. Maybe once we qualify for CL today we could experiment in the last 2 PL games.. M_Afro
This is going to be a very unpopular post………but here goes. I don’t get the Konsa love in. I think he is decent and definitely deserves a place in our squad but I never ever see this rolls Royce that others go on about. He has been awful these past few games when you need your top players to step up. Mind you, he’s not alone there!

I think he’s one of our best and most important players (top three or four, possibly) but he’s the one who currently looks the most knackered. His form has dropped off a cliff. PaulC
He had a tough game and gave the penalty away.
Brumstopdogs
Konsa has to play centre back. The experiment of him at right back, on the whole, has not worked and Brighton's main threat today came down his side.

Frodo
If this was Cash that gave the penalty away the Cash thread would be red hot with abuse, not that I think Konsa should get abuse, far from it, he is a class defender, I think our best defender, today he gave a penalty away it happens its football, we go again, one more win & I think we get Champions league football, should be backing our players when they need us most but unfortunately, this place is turning toxic ... so I'm checking out till this season is done & everybody has calmed the **** down. In Emery I trust
avfc1982am
Been terrible since getting picked for England. Looks miles off the pace and takes too long on the ball.
MaVilla
tbh, if the Konsa situation was a pen, so was Rogers. anyways...
AV82
He made a mistake. I wouldn’t look to criticise his general play when you consider what’s in front of him and how disjointed our midfield and attack looks.
The_Steve
Looked a bit too exposed overlapping at right back. The lad dived for the pen so that's not on him.
rbcuk
He’s no right back, wish unai would stop putting him out there, much better in the centre
