Villa are two players away from mounting a challenge. A specialist centre half - James Collins... and a striker who can actually hold the ball up and bring others in _Davis. Even a transfer window isn't needed.

All managers on the outside looking in can see that. If Bruce doesn't keep his job im sure they'll be queues round the block to take the job and be proclaimed as a genius who never spent a penny of Villa's money to do what dino-Bruce couldn't.

Oh I agree that even a half decent manager should be able to get a tune out of this squad and hopefully be able to patch up the holes in it for now, either with out of contract signings and/or tactically playing to our strengths. However I’d like to think that we are aiming higher than half decent for our next managerial appointment. Perhaps that is why it’s taking so long? Taking so long from a fans impatient perspective anyway.

I'm probably just stating the obvious pal but Billionaires don't become Billionaires through sentiment and accept average performances, Billionaires are Billionaires because because they are Ruthless Mother ****.

If Bruce is still in charge over the festive then I will send you all a Christmas card with a tenna in.

There's also the theory that despite much evidence to the contrary, anyone who is a billionaire must be good at running a football club.

I think you can say in confidence that our new owners have been in talks with a perspective replacement for a while.

Really ....I think the opposite. I dont they envisaged making a change this early ....and purslow will have a big input ...hes been here ??? 4 weeks

I think our slump has caught the new owners on the hop... I am fearing the worst over the next appointment.

Henry & Wenger.

I’m not sure about Henry, as it seems like too much of an ‘experiment’ like Garde and Sherwood to a certain extent.

Wenger would be the best managerial appointment for us since... well,  a long time! Would love Wenger here.

He’s need to change his name to Asto Wenger but that’s a mere detail.

It would be Henry manager with Wenger above him as a DoF role.

Fwiw I think it would work. I have a quiet confidence that Henry will succeed as manager here.

Could work! Do you think we could attract a pair like that even under the restrictions of FFP?

It would be a step up for them both to join the mighty former European Champions from a small team in London, but I think it could work....?

Given that now Wenger has retired from management but wants to work in other capacities in football then it says it all really.

Henry is just sitting with Belgium awaiting the phone call.

Claudio Ranieri to end of season!

As said before he inherited an amazing team and Leicester scouts got Mahrez for 400k and Kante for 5.6m the latter won them the league then won it for Chelsea imo. Ranieri is bang average and people only say him because Leicester won title and ignore all the other factors. RDM won CL and the team was practically managed by the senior players

based on what ? - that he scored a lot of goals in his playing career.

I think Henry would be a disastrous appointment tbh.
