Unfortunately I’ve seen or heard nothing that suggests that is correct. Here’s hoping though.

I'm probably just stating the obvious pal but Billionaires don't become Billionaires through sentiment and accept average performances, Billionaires are Billionaires because because they are Ruthless Mother ****.

If Bruce is still in charge over the festive then I will send you all a Christmas card with a tenna in.

It begs the question, are there problems with their first choice managerial candidate hence Potatohead still being here and not been dismissed yet?

With a statement of intent obviously wanting to be made on the next managerial appointment, it makes you wonder what's the hold up on it all?

Again unpopular opinion, but we played MUCH better football.

He only had 11 games, and let's be real, we jumped from frying pan into fire.

If he had gotten the same resources as Bruce i'm pretty sure we would have been in the Premier League or "thereabouts" a season or 2 ago!

I seem to recall he had 50 mill?.....we see players like Bradley Dack going for £750,000.

We seem to have something badly wrong at our club.....sure we get the odd gem like McGinn for c 2.5 mill......but in the main we just squander money, by having a poor recruitment department, which has now been cleared out.

To be fair mate, at least 2 of his signings are still ever present in the team (Kodjia and Chester).

On that basis it's properly fair to speculate that he at least used the money more wisely than Bruce.

Bruce is now replacing his own signings.

AV1......They cost c 20 mill the pair.

I don't think the whole Cardiff team cost that much, last season, not sure the Fulham team did either.....and at the moment, I am not exactly enamoured with them either.

We just need a new direction.

To be fair mate that signing went down well with the majority of the fanbase. Few could have imagined at the time that the bloke would be playing at center halve in 2yrs time ?

@TRO to add to what was pointed out above, my comment is more a game of hindsight that anything else.

When looking back and comparing the 2 managers, AT least I felt we were going in the right direction.

My reference to resources is a combination of time and players. He had ONE transfer window. No midfield.

I actually was not in favour of sacking him at the time but I understand why we did, because we wanted promotion immediately!

Now here we are.

Zidane getting english lessons apparently, can only be for one reason....

... that we’ll soon be able to upgrade our current version of Steve Bruce to the slightly more fashionable and flashy south European model «the special one»?

Well, it does seem after c 3 years......we are back where we started.

in terms of our inability to win games and resemble a balanced team.

Funnily enough, a mate of mine represents him in the middle east, was staying with me for a couple of months here.

Apparently he turned down a 35 million dollar deal.

So..... yeah.

As soon as he quit real madrid i contacted a couple of betting sites after the odds of him being qatar boss for the world cup, none of them would touch it at first then they came out too low to bother

No disrespect, but I can’t see that Tony could have at the time, or Ranieri is able to now, build a side and create a style and identity from the wreckage of what Steve Bruce is going to leave them.

Villa are two players away from mounting a challenge. A specialist centre half - James Collins... and a striker who can actually hold the ball up and bring others in _Davis. Even a transfer window isn't needed.

All managers on the outside looking in can see that. If Bruce doesn't keep his job im sure they'll be queues round the block to take the job and be proclaimed as a genius who never spent a penny of Villa's money to do what dino-Bruce couldn't.
