Popular Post WhatAboutTheFinish
Feel compelled to stand up for Ronnie Corbett, an absolute legend. His monologue always the highlight of the Two Ronnies and a dream in the combination. For every dig at Sorry I’m happy to raise a Clarence although things shouldn’t descend into a competition between what must have been the greatest comedy double act of all time. (I really love The Two Ronnies!!) 3 1

Stevo985 Posted February 26, 2018 VT Supporter Share Posted February 26, 2018 I absolutely loved Red Dwarf. But that can't go on the list, because like many others it went on too long. Anything after about series 5 or 6 was utter garbage. The new stuff on Dave is embarrassingly bad.
Popular Post VILLAMARV
General Consensus reporting for duty! Basically, anything that got a positive mention from any individual poster so far got a point (Honourable mentions and all it's all good). Likes on posts did not count (bit hard to work out what they're for on all the posts) - only words spoken/written. I suppose the only little tweaks I did was put all the Harry Enfield mentions down as 'Harry Enfield and Chums' and anyone that put Alan Partridge went under 'I'm Alan Partridge' and not Knowing me - Knowing you / Day Today etc. Maybe I'll do a negative version when I next can't sleep properly and we've had a bit more banter about Ronnie Corbett Mind you, maybe not, who wants to dwell on negativity! At the moment the stuff on this page was not added. And I know the image res makes it hard to read the little ones sorry. Those things on 1 vote so far basically like W1A, Phoneshop and Q.I. At the moment it seems WE have The Inbetweeners ahead of Blackadder with The Office making up the Top 3. But if you've only laid your hipster answer down and not mentioned the obvious ones coz everyone else has already then you're skewing the data! (I know it's just a bit of fun really, honest) Of course, all it really shows is what stuff we generally agree about in BIG and the more acquired tastes in small. And a lot about me, it says a lot about me (word removed word bubble word removed)

I'd go so far as to say series 2-6 is the really good stuff. I loved series 1 but it's a bit slow at times. Series 7 was when they changed Kochanski and Naylor and Grant stopped writing together. Stopped filming in front of an audience and it all goes awry. For me, it's up there with The IT Crowd for most amount of tears rolling down my face when it's on form. Psirens - "stay away from me Pete Trantor's sister" is making me chuckle just thinking about it. White Hole, Back to Life, Backwards - there are so many great episodes. For me Blackadder HAS to at least be in the top5 of any list and yet series one of that is pretty damn weak. 'Utter garbage' though and 'embarrassingly bad' - yep, totally agree for series 7 and anything on Dave, you're not wrong there imo. Edited February 26, 2018 by VILLAMARV Got away with misspelling Kochanski without a Kenneth Williams!
Straggler
Most everything I have ever loved in comedy has already been mentioned here (although I can't believe how few mentions Only Fools and Horses has had). There are a couple that I would like to give a shout out to: Hancock's Half Hour Up Pompeii Allo Allo As a young man I loved all of these even though they are all before my time.

For shame, they've gone and ruined the entire series by putting a huge spoiler on the DVD cover. That "language Timothy" was the one 'joke' in it, as far as I recall. El Zen
There is probably a lot of good stuff that never made its way to Norwegian telly, but some of my all time favourites have already been mentioned: Blackadder Fawlty Towers Flying Circus The Office Peep Show All fantastically funny in their own way. chappy
Top 2 for me would be Peep Show and The Thick of It. Inbetweeners probably third.
