I really dont get Bruce thinking with this one, he played all pre season for united at centre back, he is supposed to be a great prospect at centre back. He then goes I know lets put him at right back and play Jedinak at centre back. Madness!!

He keeps putting square pegs in round holes!

What are you talking about man?

This is the norm around here and widely acceptable. It's what's known as the Villa engine. When a part falls off we just replace it with a plaster. Job done.

Bruce has it all covered and how dare you question him or his Brucesaurus method of football.

Phil Gibson out!

CB is a tough position for a kid to learn.  any mistake will probably cost a goal. and will cost the team precious points. I don't blame bruce for not trusting him. I'd much rather have experience at the back.

It's a good idea to throw him in at CB against Yeovil tho.

His best moment today was when he was in the CB position covering jedi who along with Alan had managed to lopse the ball and put us under real pressure, AT made an excellent tackle and then passed it out calmly to one of our midfielders. Didnt think he looked comfortable at RB, just makes no sense Steve, pleass play him CB!

Even if that means they make sloppy passes that lead to goals being scored against us?

Our experience backline gifted two not only one goal to Wigan. ?

I think we may see him at cb later in the season, but as his first game back in the side it was probably seen as a lesser risk to have him at rb. A sort of easing in process.

Then we must be the only team that take that approach.

Personally I think that's krollocks and it makes no sence. Why would you consider playing a player out of position as a way of easing him in ? Surly he will perform best in his actual position ?!  it's just Bruce playing people out of position because that's what he does.

Therefore it's bizarre that he's trusting a player who constantly makes goalscoring mistakes.

That was a definite get out of jail for bruce today. He royally got it wrong with the defence. Really he should have had a settled defence to help nyland out. But instead he plays a cm who has been useless at cb on many occasions and we concede a pathetic goal.

People who said elphick was bad at cb jedinak is much much worse. Bruce could have played axel at cb and played bree or Elmo at rb. I never want to see jedinak at cb again.

You got a lucky escape today bruce take that as a bullet dodged so don't make that mistake again

to be fair Jedi isnt a specialist centre back

I don't mind Jedi, I was just saying that experience itself isn't the solution. When you're putting Jedi in that position its because you don't trust other players experience.
