Steve Bruce

We started the season awful just sitting back defending, then there was much preassure on Bruce, he changes the tactics and we played more expansive and attacking for a couple of games and got some good results. Since then we have step by step gone back to the cautious defensive Bruce tactics. Time to cranck up the preassure on him again it seems.

It will take a few losses on the trot before he is sacked and the team will continue to scrape enough wins here and there to keep him in place so this purgatory will continue for a good while yet.

Why i had reached the point of wanting us to lose a game earlier this year. Short term pain for the chance of better.

This is the worry, by the time we decide to get rid we will be out of contention. I already think automatics are beyond us now.

Or take all the pressure off him.

...He's just picked the 11 best fit players and put them on the field, even if it's disjointed and shapeless.

No surprise, because this is what he has always done.

His style is to buy a load of players, and then just throw various combinations of them onto the pitch in the hope that one of them will click.

He will never get us to play effective pass and move, to actually develop a team style of play that players can just slot into when we get injuries, because he doesn't know how to, and more crucially, he doesn't want to.

His shtick is to get results over anything else. Problem with that is when the results don’t come there’s nothing to hang your hat on. From the way we play, when we go into a game after a loss there’s nothing that makes you think “bad game but we’re a good side and will win this one”. It feels like “can we nick a win here even if we don’t play well”. That’s never the hallmark of a team trying to win the league.

If we don’t get a win to shut us upx it’s VERY easy as a fan to look at the actual football Bruce sets us up to play and say this isn’t going to be successful long term.

I'm completely sick to death now of watching us play awful and lack any ideas against top 6 sides, it's an absolute joke. We'll be out the playoffs next week, there's no point of us wasting a spot with our record.

Absolutely this . Not one redeeming aspect to our display .

If in doubt swap a RB for a RB and hope for the best!

It will be just like last season.......started falling apart before we could get to Jan and when we got there, too much damage to moral to catch up......not saying we won't finish higher but fear its becoming a bit academic.

Its going to be a slow ,hard road back at this rate.

So is Bruce still the right man for you TRO?

If i remember correctly he was forced into changes for the norwich game because of injuries. He then went to the infamous 5 at the back the next game.
