Why would he have it set up so he can read people's emails? Do you really care what people say to you behind your back?

Ignorance is bliss.

What a colossal word removed we have in charge of us. The sooner he dies the better.

There's nothing to say that they were the only two people included in the email discussion.

It's pretty mental that they'd never all met as a group, email is great and everything, not quite on a par with hangouts, or skype or whatever, but even then you cannot seriously set something up of this magnitude with the former governor of the **** bank of **** england and expect that you can organise everything via mail.

beggars belief.

Maybe the email was leaked to him by someone in the management team who felt King & Bernstein's plans were threatening their position

Dunno, maybe someone who thought the analysis of what went wrong meant his/her position was at risk?

Someone like Reilly?

For someone to leak the emails, they would also have to have received them.

That should narrow the field.

Not necessarily. The people running the IT systems may have access to them too depending on how its set up

True.

It could be anyone. I don't think the leaking is the issue, personally.

It's the confirmation, as if we needed it, that Lerner wasn't prepared to step away like he said he would and said he had.

The place appears to be a complete mess. The owner is lying, directors have lied about backing to managers, and then been fired or resigned leaving one bloke who was in the marines and one from the Birmingham Chamber of Commerce or wherever he was from in charge of a football club. Meanwhile a succession of hopeless, out of touch managers have gradually got sucked more and more into Aston's black hole and players have literally been taking the piss by not caring about the need to look after their bodies pouring drink down their bodies openly on the night of relegation, playing juvenile games rather than concentrating in the match they were participating in and insulting fans by tweeting stupid things then giving a bullshit excuse about how it got there.

It's like a series of Dream Team.

Nah, Lerner is a Billionaire, he will have a head of security (and indeed a team of people) overseeing all his affairs and interests, part of this will be an IT department and monitoring all senior managers of his business interests that he controls (or where they can where he doesnt have control). Part of their brief will be to analyse email chatter to ensure that his he isnt being compromised or conspired against, or espionage. It is quite normal, the emails that Bernstein and King were exchanging may not even have been on the Villa IT systems, but they may have ben monitoring these individuals. It wouldn't be surprising to me if Krulak was part of this overseer role, he does watch Randy's back, especially given his military background.

Naivety on behalf of King & Bernstein, but shows how controlling and nasty (and insecure) Lerner is - we've had the anecdotes on here mentioned before.
