Next Manager/ Season

O.k he gets us up and then establishes up for a season or two in the prem....think Big Sam at West Ham. Would that really be so bad for us, I think we'd all take that given the state we're in presently, we could be out of the top league for a while after all.

What I would say...if we get ambitious owners in I would be disappointed with Pulis in so much as his transfer dealings are unimaginative and  he's another of those types who overpays for average british players e.g. 8m for James Chester and 4m for Rickie Lambert.

Last time Pulis was in this division was at Stoke. I was at Keele Uni at the time so popped to many of their games and y'know there was some entertaining games they played that year.... I saw two 3-2 home wins at the Brit within 3 days.

These were Stoke's results the year they went up. As you can see for 3/4 of the season they were involved in a lot of high scoring games and it was only in the last 10 games and run in they really tightened it up to get over the line. Totting it up they scored 69 goals that season.

I think it's perceptions. Yes Pulis is very negative at prem level but who's to say dropping down a league and playing poorer teams he won't be a lot more positive?

At least with Pulis, I'd be confident that he'd take us back up and of course basically guarantee survival once there. I can't say the same for the other 'proven' Championship managers that have been linked and/or suggested by fans.

I'd take negative if it meant winning a few games.

Weve had a mix of everything (positive/negative/attack minded defensive football) over the last few managers without actually doing the one thing we needed to - winning games - which pulis seems to have a knack of doing

Also he wouldn't take any shit from any of the players which can only be a plus in my book.

Managed to keep a very average wba side up comfortably too. I agree with you that it's more perception than reality that he's a very negative manager.

Failing to see the downsides really.

He won't. It is one way, no matter what.

Pullis = poor season ticket sales me included!

Funnily enough I was at the West Brom game today, the lure of free tickets! What I saw was a very well organised West Brom side who out played Liverpool for large periods of the game. I would say man for man we have better players then them but what I saw was players who knew their jobs, tight marking and some real effort...all things that are sadly lacking at Villa. I'm not saying Pulis would be my choice for manager but he is streets ahead of what we have had for the last few seasons.

It makes no sense. His specialism is keeping teams up. I know he has had a promotion but that's not how I see him,  it's about getting teams organised and hard to beat. I just don't see him as the man to lead a promotion charge

Oh and Benteke was utter gash. Marked out of the game and when he did get the ball he wasted it.
