Highest they ever finished was 3rd once in the 80's, and a couple of FA Cups in their whole history. You can argue he's eclipsed that in his tenure alone with a European trophy and 3 back to back seasons of European football. All this to say they're an absolute tinpot club who are carried by being in London.

Rubbish over rated English international? Give Moyes a call. Lingard had done really well on loan though, that wouldn’t have been a bad perm signing. It would have though, look at what he did after that at Forest and where he is now. He wasn't going to keep up that decent bit of form he had for very long. JPJCB
Can’t help but feel a bit sorry for him but this should be a cautionary tale for players making moves to big clubs. His career would have been undeniably better had he not moved to city

His career would have been undeniably better had he not moved to city I don't think it would have. He clearly isn't very good and by moving to city for a lot of money he got himself a big fat payday he never would have got otherwise. He's a bang average player who hit the jackpot. He did alright for himself. He'll probably end up back at Leeds in the championship. Edited March 31 by villa89
bannedfromHandV
Came on whilst they were 3-1 up, gave away the penalty (somewhat harshly) for their second goal, unsure of his role in the equaliser but given he’s a DCM he can’t have done his job too well, easily sidestepped by Barnes for the winning goal. Absolute horror show of an appearance.

VillaChris
Ruben Anorim would be a brilliant hire for them. Lopetegui o.k but feels like they'll just float around 9th-12th then playing similar football to what they're doing currently under Moyes. Very surprised Potter isn't being considered for this. Don't understand what job he's holding out for if he's rejected decent clubs from abroad.
MaVilla
they have the base of a very good team. Kudus, Bowen, Paqueta, Alvarez and Ward-Prowse, very good players. They just need to sort their defence, and get a proper striker.
