Davkaus
Pretty much everyone that's met her says she was an insufferable word removed who was rude to anyone she thought was beneath her. Not exactly the national tragedy that the press are making out.

Xann
Pretty much everyone that's met her says she was an insufferable word removed who was rude to anyone she thought was beneath her. Aye, she had a reputation for being a diva. Supposedly, she really didn't like being touched. In her defense - I have met her, and during those 6 seconds, she was courteous, all smiles and didn't seem adverse to contact in the slightest. She was being escorted arm in arm by two Chippendale types. They were recording a danced up version of the 'Blind Date' theme. Gaydar meltdown. TrinityRoadSteps
The black armband sellers of Liverpool will be out in force. One of the many professional scousers who live as far away from Liverpool as possible. Not a very likeable person by all accounts but as usual the media types all telling us how wonderful she was

It must be a terrible day for them, you know Monday.

Big supporter of Thatcher, and distanced herself from anything that could be deemed controversial, that other Scousers have got behind (e.g. the JFT96 campaign). MakemineVanilla
I was surprisingly sad at the news of Cilla's death. I never liked her singing much and always saw her as the Gracie Fields of the Liverpool renaissance, where her mixture of quirky charm and ordinariness made her an icon of hope for 1960s working-class teenagers. So I think most people will remember her fondly as a reminder of the times, rather than for anything else. I have no idea if she was a nice person or not, nor do I much care. mjmooney Posted August 3, 2015 VT Supporter Share Posted August 3, 2015 Yeah, my reaction is much the same as MMV's. Her middle-aged TV presenter persona had little impact on me, but I do associate her early singing career with the emergence of The Beatles in '63, which was a huge part of my childhood. Seat68
Fan of her singing, her TV work was never really aimed at me so I dont have an opinion on it. As to if she was a pleasant/unpleasant person in person, I dont really care as she wasnt a person that I ever met.
