It was at the time. It was amazing. Times have changed so people who love it loved it because they saw it at the time. They enjoy it still because they remember how good it was back then.

Most westerns.

 

I know this is that 'someone says they don't like something, so some eediat recommends something to do with the thing they hate totally sure they'll actually love this one'

...But...

 

If I was going to recommend a Western to you, it'd be this one.

Have you seen Jodorowsky's Dune? He was in that working with Giger amongst others. Pity they didn't make that film.

Not seen the documentary, but I know the story and have leafed through the book.

 

I've got another Giger book with a chapter about it, 'Necronomicon' maybe?

Dog Day Afternoon

A lot of those 70's New York "classics" are totally overrated, IMO. Films like Mean Streets, Midnight Cowboy, The French Connection, The Conversation, Serpico, etc.
