Guest av1
The bitterness has already started. Comment below from one Liverpool poster on RAWK. Not a chance. If it was then why buy Villa? There are more popular, already better, clubs out there which they could throw that much money at and have a better chance of success. A better chance of success? Its not rocket science, infact its all rather easy sadly. As Man City have proved, all you need to become successful is a top class manager and lots of money. NeilS
The top class manager will be the important part, otherwise we will go down the same road we did under O'Neill where we wasted our spending splurge on the likes of Harewood/NRC/Zat Knight and Sidwell, where with a bit more imagination in the transfer market could have filled our squad out with more technically gifted players from around the globe.
StanBalaban
I'll get on the blower to the Seahawks and get Paul Allen involved. Sorted. I've got his number if you need it. Nice business card to boot!
Daweii
It does make you wonder if this rumoured takeover is dependent on premier league survival why our esteemed owner did not splash a little cash in January? After all you don't have to be Einstein to realise that a buyer would want us to be in the PL and that would give RL the best price. OK he may not have had firm interest at that time, and he may not now, but its been fairly obvious that he wants out for months. Because why would he put more milions into something hes about to sell especially given that fact that he probably assumed we'd be a little more comfortable than we are. The same reason why you spend money renovating and redecorating before selling a house. You may think the house you lived in for years is amazing but potential buyers may not feel the same. Fitting it with the latest stuff and giving everything a fresh lick of paint doesn't just improve saleability but can increase the potential asking price. In this instance we are talking millions instead of thousands but the reasoning is the same. Lerner would spend a few million to potentially make a few hundred million just like the home owner would spend a few thousand to potentially make a few hundred thousand. You spend money to make money..

To be fair to Rawk a couple of posters are saying that Villa are a big club and an attractive buy.

Xela
Interesting and encouraging news. I won't get my hopes up too high though about spending big and getting to the top. I'm sure Lerner said that too

Because Birmingham, its inhabitants and anything related to Birmingham (apart from Black Sabbath) suck all the joy out of existence. THOSE STUPID **** ACCENTS mixed with the never ending dirge of "shit support, my lord". And they've got ugly kits. The only thing they're part of the fabric of is a giant sack pieced together with the intention of carrying a large amount of shit. There'll be no shame if they go down. It'll be **** hysterical. ....quite funny
