KSV
Remember guys: what's key right now is unity at the club. *sacks Culverhouse and Karsa* thats right. They were not displaying the unity required. Off they went.
juanpabloangel18
*Moans about board not doing anything to help our crisis on the pitch* *Moans when they take steps towards doing so* Interesting interpretation
Pilchard
Remember guys: what's key right now is unity at the club. *sacks Culverhouse and Karsa* You couldn't make it up, could you? Aston Villa FC would make a fantastic sitcom.

The Fun Factory
Does anyone believe this bullshit? Hardly a suprise that there this talk of big summer signings instead of the young and hungry policy. Villa trying to show a bit of leg so people renew their season tickets. I will believe it when I see it.
Brumstopdogs
Hardly suggests he has a great control of what is going on at the club with the timing of the statement yesterday and then today's fiasco.
foreveryoung
Very strange he is keeping a low profile. I would have thought we may have a statement from him not Krulak??

dudevillaisnice
Aston Villa FC @AVFCOfficial · Club statement: Paul Faulkner. Read here: http://bit.ly/1mDUlx6 #AVFCmod edit - text of article addedLatest news regarding Paul Faulkner.8th Jul 2014The Club can confirm that Paul Faulkner will step down as Villa Chief Executive.Prior to his joining Villa, Paul had worked closely with Villa Chairman Randy Lerner in a variety of capacities within his organisation.Having discussed his re-engaging with the Chairman's broader business while remaining involved with Villa in a non-operational role, agreement could not be reached. On the strength of many productive years together, and a longstanding friendship, Paul has parted on good terms. He has offered his support to the Villa organisation to ensure a smooth transition.Robin Russell, who was recruited by the Chairman in 2006 to come in as Chief Financial Officer, and with whom he has now worked for more than 20 years, will step in as acting Chief Executive to maintain continuity.Paul Faulkner said: "I would like to thank Randy Lerner for the opportunity to become involved with Aston Villa and for the relationship we built over years, which pre-dated my time at the Club."To the Villa fans, I am grateful for their support over the years, and for their passionate love for and loyalty to this great club, which deserves the very best."I would like to make particular reference to the wonderful Villa staff both at Bodymoor Heath and Villa Park. They are an incredible group of people and it's been a privilege to lead and work with them on a daily basis. Villa is best in class in so many ways off the field and I only hope that success on the pitch follows."I feel very humbled to have been able to spend such a long period of time amongst such special people at such a special club and I wish them, Paul Lambert and the squad all the very best for the future as I look to embark on the next stage of my career and a new challenge."The Villa Chairman also added: "Paul has been fantastic in his role at Villa and more broadly as a colleague over the years. I offer him my deepest thanks."
smetrov
Did seem strange he said nothing after Randy,s sale statement. - was it because he looked an ass after strongly denying any sale intentions weeks earlier ? Nicola cortese in please..
PieFacE Posted July 8, 2014 VT Supporter Share Posted July 8, 2014 Well I predicted this as soon as his job with the FA was announced and got shot down for saying so. He obviously knew Randy wanted to sell months ago and has secured himself a new job. Which is fair enough, good luck to him.

SikhInTrinity
He wanted a non-operational role at the club. Do find the whole timing a bit bizarre though. Edited July 8, 2014 by SikhInTrinity
omariqy
Don't think he was that happy with how things went over the last 6 months and it seems he has been kept out of the loop with the takeover.
PieFacE Posted July 8, 2014 VT Supporter Share Posted July 8, 2014 I think this could be a bad thing to be honest. I think in his time here he's learnt a lot and does a lot of good things. Will be interesting to see who we replace him with. Don't think he was that happy with how things went over the last 6 months and it seems he has been kept out of the loop with the takeover. Why would you think that?
