Aston Villa striker Libor Kozak has suffered a setback in his bid to return to fitness, Paul Lambert revealed today. The Czech striker suffered a broken leg in training back in January, but had looked on course to make a comeback within the next few weeks. However, Lambert admitted today that he has had to undergo another operation.

"Libor had another operation on Wednesday," the manager said. "He's had a setback on his leg but hopefully that will start to heal."

The was better news from Lambert on the progress of Christian Benteke, who is set to be included in the Villa squad for Saturday's clash with Manchester City after coming back from his own, long-term injury.

In most other walks (no pun intended) of life and in some other sports too, surgeons would pin a compound fracture, but I guess a footballer would have to let it heal naturally which would take longer I'd imagine.

Poor bloke. Really missed having him as an option. While Benteke's been out, we've had no big guy up front to win the aerial duels, pretty much meaning that all of our goal kicks are just like giving the ball back. Hope he gets better soon.
