I know these are from a few years ago but I really like them especially the collars and sleeve details on the first 2.

Were these your designs Luke?

I'd love something simple like these ones. There was just a bit too much going on the kits this year for me. Love the white away kit here but would also look great if you substituted that white for black (and we haven't had a black away kit for a couple of years now). Also big fan of the yellow + blue combo.

That's how i feel too. Keep it simple and elegant.

The harder you try to make it stick out the cheaper it looks

As for the Home kit i quite like simple, smart kits. i remember the Lazio style shirt going down well:

My Opinions:

The above kit is fantastic.

This season's home kit is nice from the crest down. The weird vents on the chest, an over fussy collar and those superfluous macron men on the shoulders are what prevent me from buying it.

We should have a really simple home kit, saving any experimentation or extra detailing for the away strip.

The Macron men on the shoulders must go. It's enough to have Macron emblazoned in such a prime position across the chest, given as much onus as the team crest. The brand would get more recognition/respect if they used their logo less.

Two different cuts would be great. The Nike 'FX Pro' era jerseys are the last ones I bought because they fitted well. Still wear the black one playing football.

Personally, I think, If a sponsor wants us to walk around wearing their brand on our chests they should subsidise the cost of the jersey. As it stands, we are just willing advertisement chumps who don't necessarily wish to convey the messages of our team's sponsor. I'm surprised there isn't a law against this, actually. I'd happily pay full whack for a shirt with no sponsor, but I think we should be remunerated by dafabet (or whoever) through subsidisation. I think £20 off the jersey price would be fair.

But they pay the club the going rate for the advertisement space, they don't get it for free.

I understand that, but they do get free sponsorship from us every time we wear their brand in public. It seems unfair to me, that you can't wear your club's shirt without being a walking advertising board.
It's not free for them though is it, that's what they've paid for. I don't like being a walking billboard so I'd never buy a shirt with a money making company's name on it.

This.

It's not free. It's exactly what these companies pay millions of pounds for. To have their logo on supporters' shirts as well as the actual players' shirts.

I guess the sponsors have paid for the privilege. Either way, in my opinion, it's not right.

Regarding the yellow away kit, would they want to do yellow after doing the 'glow in the dark' kit two years earlier?

Let's go for a colour we haven't had for a while............ pink.... would be rejected and laughed at by all the manly football fans who think it makes them look ghey, so how about...... dark green/ brown like Fulham had a few seasons ago, or grey?

If anything, if the option to have a sponsorless version of the shirt were ever available, you'd probably have to pay more for it.

That's the way of the world. Stuff with adverts on is cheaper.

I think we should bring back the black socks from the 30's and 40's, and from a couple of years ago too...

Home: Claret and blue top, blue on sleeves only; white shorts, black socks

Away: White top, blue shorts, claret socks

Change: Black top, black shorts, claret socks

Indeed. Even forum based web sites.

Yes indeed. But the subtle difference here is that we are hosting the advertising space, so it should be cheaper for us. If we lived in a world where our chests were rent-able advertising spaces, we'd be the ones getting paid to wear the name of the latest online casino. But, I digress. This is probably a topic for another thread.

It IS cheaper for us. If shirt sponsorship didn't exist the clubs would need to recoup the money elsewhere (or the players would earn less, but that's a much wider and hypothetical debate).

Start another thread if you like, but I doubt you'll get a different answer.

I'm really glad the club are taking the view of the fans on board with this, seeing as we are the ones that wear it it makes sense. Well done to the OP.

Can we have a River Plate/Peru style home shirt? Or alternatively a Boca style away shirt?

Why not something totally nuts like this?

While I like what Macron have done so far with their designs, I haven't been buying their shirts due to sizing.

I bought Small when we had Nike shirts and they fit me perfect but the Macron ones seem to be that bit bigger, yet the biggest junior size is too small for me

I'd like to see XS sizes next year if the sizing stays the same.

Macron already do a shirt with a stripe across the middle, like River and Peru. The bologna away kit:

That, but with claret & blue for the stripe would be mega.
