They still stink.

Awful.

Every game Ole is there is a great thing.

I was sat here thinking “nobody has had a go at Ole for not winning every game yet”

and then it was delivered

First loss of the season, away in the Champions league playing with 10 men for an hour. Scored 15 in previous 5 games, conceded 3.

They were playing Young Boys, and in the time after AWB went off, they didn't have a shot and amassed an xG of 0.00. Meanwhile Ole has lost about 70% of the Champions League games he has managed Utd for.

Ole has done a better job than Mourinho and Van Gaal, all whilst significantly lowering the average age of the squad.

Still think they need an upgrade on McFred, but everywhere else they are stacked. On paper they are slowly building a proper strong, lasting team.

Young front 3 + Ronaldo and Cavani

Defence solid.

They switched up to protect a lead and it backfired - but they don't lose that game if JLingz doesn't have a TMings brainfart.

Delighted you think this.

The more people buy in, the longer he'll stay there.

They'd be a huge threat to the serious competitions with a football manager there.

They retreated to the edge of their own penalty area to protect the lead, and hoped they could hold out purely through defending and conceding possession, like a League One side hanging on to a lead against a Prem side in an FA Cup game. They were dire.

Not disputing any of that - but they still only lost to a massive individual error in the 95th minute.

The worrying thing for them (and maybe Varane helps solve this?) is that they're conceding goals in every game.  It's fine if they're going to stuff teams, but this "shutting up shop" isn't something they can seemingly manage well.  Might as well be a Keegan-esque side.

He’s only had about 6 games in the CL as  manager hasn’t he? … and he got to the final of the Europa league last year.

Why are people building these paper thin arguments against him? Why are people desperate to say “I told you so”?

Hes doing alright, has them moving in the right direction which is more than can be said for pretty much anyone post SAF.

Currently top of the premier league.

Lost the Europa league final last year on penalties.
Runners up in the premier league last season.

Out of the league cup and fa cup to the winners at QF and SF stages.

They’re not exactly stinking the place out are they.
He’s doing a very good job, just people set their stall out too soon on him.

They stink man.

They get by because they have a remarkable collection of players.

They rarely control the majority of a game like real top sides.

Ronaldo will paper over cracks further. Win them games they shouldn't win etc.

No complaints from me, viva Ole.

If they bomb out of this group then it’s a problem. If they progress as most people assume they will then it won’t matter.

No tactics just vibes he's basically Kevin Keegan.

Done well got a spirit back. Built a great platform of good exciting and young players. Got rid of some utter dross.

He's in a better place than when he took over .....but it's United and they need to win a trophy and Ole won't.

It really is no tactics just vibes and when they come up against it (Europa final was absolutely pitiful) Ole ain't got an answer.

Whether or not they were down to 10 men and it was a Lingard error that lost them the game, there is no way that Manchester United with all their wealth and talent should be being bossed and lose to Young Boys. its a shocker!

This is just football. You can’t draw conclusions upon the occasional blip which all teams have, even the best / wealthiest ones.

If they don’t get out of the group or miss out of CL qualification then criticism is fair but it doesn’t look like either will happen.

2nd last year and a penalty kick away from the Europa league trophy, it’s as good as it’s got for United over the last few years.

Ole is not without his faults but I’d be delighted as CEO or owner of United at what’s he’s doing.

He will start to feel the pressure to bring in some silverware now he’s had a bit of time to get the squad how he wants it.

He got to the final, and 2nd in the league without any tactics 🤔

Maybe people still hold a grudge for what happened under Lerner.
