Fair play they win but nothing memorable

I see what you're saying now. Agree that they didn't really come up against a challenge until they played Belgium.

Still I thought they played some nice football along the way even though it was mostly on the break. Their one touch and flick on play was quite impressive.

Pogba was immense at the WC, and an absolute beast at Juventus. It's not really a shot in the dark to suggest that he's being stifled by Mourinho.

He was carried at Juventus though. Best defence in modern football plus Pirlo, Vidal and Marchisio creating for him and he had a free role and little responsibility .

Maybe United is not suited for him but you dont pay 90 million for a fairweather player

You do when you're Manchester United and have ambitions of winning the league and beyond. This isn't a Burnley or Brighton who need tough players in a relegation fight. Pogba is a world class advanced midfielder, and if it takes having defensive solidity behind him to get the best out of him then you get that for him. We all saw him for France, he stole the show at the WC. Any of the elite teams would love to have a player like that in their teams.

Pogba seems to have a lot of technical talent, but like a lot of footballers - doesn't apply it very often.

He does have a bit of "bambi on ice" about him too, but it seems like he does play better when he isn't in Red.

Strange really.  Pressure must get to him on some occasions, but when he's really up for it, he does do well.

He just wants what is rightfully his.

True.

Two issues, 1. He wasn't immense at the WC, that's a complete myth IMO. He just played okay and was disciplined well by Deschamps. Plus it's easy to look good when Kanté is doing the work of two players beside you. 2. He's wasn't that good at Juventus either IMO. The year before he moved to Man United he was made the centre piece of the team playing in a number 10 role and he failed. I don't think Juve were too unhappy to see him leave, especially for the King's ransom they got. He played his best when pirlo was running the show in midfield and Pogba was playing in the left channel.

He's got the talent but according to reports out of Man Utd he thinks he understands the game/tactics and doesn't listen to instruction, instead just doing his own thing out on the pitch. The problem is that he doesn't understand tactics at all and he isn't half as good as he thinks he is. If he could get some discipline into his game and do the simple things instead of constantly trying to make a one man highlight reel during each game he'd be a good player. Now he has one good game in every 5 and when he's bad he has a huge negative impact on the team.

Belgium were brilliant first half v Brazil, Uruguay is always a tough opponent in knockouts although Cavani being injured was crucial. France did what they had to do and played a formation (after the Australia game) that suited their personnel e.g. Pogba in a 3 man midfield with defence minded players like Matudi and Kante alongside him so proper licence to cross the halfway line.

Not saying he's been great this season (tbh I just think he's downed tools like Hazard famously did in Mourinho's last Chelsea season) but surely he'd play well under a manager like Pochettino who's got even Sissoko looking like a good player this year.

I hate Fellaini. Next to no ability just a thug.

Big problem with Man. United is they keep giving contract extensions to average squad players.

Fellani been there since 2013.

Rojo since 2014.

Phil Jones since 2011.

Smalling since 2010.

Valencia since 2009.

Some of those should've been sold long ago, they would've been under Fergie.

Them qualifying for the next round of the champions league secured his job for now. He could lose today or next week and it wouldn’t matter.

When they get dumped out of the champions league, then the heat will really be on him in the league.
