Well if nobody saw you then nothing.

But it’s drilled into us that everyone has to scan every time they enter a building/area

so somebody would most likely tell you to go and scan in

Seems pointless if not having to scan out means they have no record of who is still in the building.

I think in theory it's meant to be that if they didn't have access when they scanned in they wouldn't get the green light so you could tell them they couldn't come in.

It's weird. I understand the need for security but it seems a bit overkill.

Like I said, the new VP of the company came over. He'd worked for the company (just not our business unit) for 25 years and he had to be escorted round the site at all times because he didn't have security clearance. It's mad.

If I visit our site in Italy, where I've been numerous times, I have to be escorted round by someone always. Even to the toilet and back :D

Feckless people popping out several kids is no benefit to society, if they choose to have lots of children fine, but it shouldn't be incentivised and supported by the state.

What is your alternative here? Chimney-sweeps and workhouses? Infanticide? Or just roaming gangs of feral children robbing people at knifepoint to get enough money together to eat?

Very easy (though also very heartless) to say 'I shouldn't have to pay for it' but once the children exist, they exist.

It need not be so heartless over the long run, generally speaking, if you change incentives you change behaviour. Economic policy designed to improve participation among the poor and a greater spreading of wealth and opportunity across the country would certainly help, more job opportunities, more economic participation, less children. Changing the benefit system would go hand in hand, how about a universal basic income or a negative income tax? Again, completely shifts the incentives that currently exist, it would be more empowering and create less dependency as things currently stand.

For what it's worth I don't really have an 'issue' with paying for it I just think it's beneficial to remove state dependency (as ethically as possible).

I'm pissed about getting a taste for Leeds' ethic and morale. It's like a bucket of piss somebody farted in. Very unpleasant and I'm slightly resentful for the experience.

I shouldn't be though.  F*** Bamford, we're going to be the one's who hit the ground and cause them to be sent off next time.

Hit the ground running we will, and send them off back home to Leeds for another year in the Championship!

There is a coffee machine at work, you put your cup on it, press a button, it makes you coffee.

At the end of pouring said coffee, there is a 5-10 second delay before the machine says complete. Everyday I watch the same people wait until the machine says complete before they pick up their cup and f*** off.

Mate, it's complete, I can see it's complete, I can hear it is complete. There is no more milk or water pouring into the cup. It was complete at this point the last time you made it, and the time before that, and the time before that no doubt.

Pick up your cup, and do one, the awkward silence is unbearable.

On a similar note, my washing machine beeps when it's done.

Except it's not done.

It beeps 3 times. But it's not finished. you can't open the door.

It spins another couple of times.

Then a minute later it beeps again. But it's still not unlocked.

And then when you finally can open it... there's no beeps! So you just have to guess.

It annoys me every time

Had to wait to pick up my prescription at the doctors, the waiting room was pretty much empty and this woman decided she'd come sit right next to me which pissed me off. She smelt like onions which also pissed me off.

I'd have just moved and glared at her
