I'm quite happy to sit in an office all day, as long as the work is monotonous and nobody tries to talk to me.

It's destroying my creativity.

I mean, if that pink duck comes yodelling through my office, dishing out lottery tickets to "good people" and keeps missing me out again...

I'm going to get a feather duster from Wilko's (99p), turn it into a makeshift shank, and threaten him to **** off, or I'll feather his wife, and kick his son in the knackers.

Absolute bastard.

This Alfie Evans situation.

Very similar to Charlie Gard - protesters threatening hospital staff, accusing doctors of murder, Americans using it to bash socialised healthcare.

Messy, and the only true victim in all of this is the poor kid who was born without a chance in life.

Horrible situation but the people outside the hospital,  I mean WTF.  Not helping.

A bit of a petty one this.

As soon as the recycling has been taken I immediately discover that a load more plastic bottles/containers are practically empty and now will sit here for the next two weeks.

There are doubtless plenty of recycling points near you. :)

There’s certainly one, I think, definitely not loads near me. Not within walking distance anyway (I’m trying to save the planet here).

Anyway, I’ll carry it there and find it’s full up, have to walk back home with it, then I have to decide when do I next try...

Paper & magazine recycling banks always seem to be full to the brim. I remember trying to cram a load of old FHM mags into one and having no luck. Probably because someone had got there first and filled it up with actual porn.

You don't have to make a special trip. Surely, you chuck them in the car when you're going past the tip or the other recycling point nearby? If it's full then no bother.

I really wish that were it.

The whole thing is terribly terribly sad, but there are very unfortunately more victims in the whole tragic affair.

1) the staff who each and every day walk through those doors desperately trying to save the lives of terribly poor children, probably understaffed and struggling with shrinking budgets but trying so so hard and doing the best that they can, who are now being demonised and suffering personal attacks. The father has threatened a  private prosecution accusing the doctors of murder?  I mean WTF?

How utterly devastating it must be for the staff who are just doing what they can.

2) there must be dozens of other parents all going through their own private hell with similarly ill children who have to walk through the mob and press every day to see their own children.

It's totally awful for anyone to have to go through this but I am very sad to say lost sympathy for them.

1) People who tap, and seemingly believe that their tapping is some sort of music, despite not being able to stay in time or rhythm with their own fingers.

2) People who sniff, sniff, SNIFF! Just blow your nose you buffoons. I find that my ears hone directly into people sniffing on the train, much to my annoyance.

Funnily enough I've come in this thread to moan about something very similar.

I haven't pinpointed who it is yet, but somebody in the office is whistling along to the vocals of every song on the radio, but literally only whistling one note.

It sounds like a 3 year old trying to play along with a referee's whistle.

Villa fan or not, today’s announcement has potentially affected my future plans, bastard royals. My Grandad was called Louis Arthur, and if we had a boy last year we were going to use his name in memory of him, although Arthur Louis as my Mrs is called Louise. So I imagine should we have another baby it would have been top of the list for a boy again, maybe not now.

Politicians, they are all full of shit and are only out to fill their own pockets.

It's why I'm not registered to vote, and never will be.  I also admit I get a kick out of how much that fact really pisses people off when it comes up in (generally political ...) conversation

Someone's holding a 'games room' today at work to raise money for charity. Great idea, get away from your desk for a bit, stick a quid in and play something like Giant Jenga or Fifa on PS4.

My work buddy went in and said me and him would be there in a sec to play Mario Kart. (They spelled it Cart on the email, which annoyed me, but anyway..)

They said "Just the two of you?". He said "Yep". They said "No, sorry, the Mario Kart (he probably pronounced it Cart) is for 4 players, you'll have to get another two people".

He said "There's no one playing right now, why can't just stick £1 in each and play two player?"

"You have to pay £4 for 4 players"

Without trying to be sexist or ageist, given the demographic in our office, I can't see them getting too many players playing Mario KART today.
