andym Posted December 23, 2012 Share Posted December 23, 2012 in terms of gameplay it looks just like the start of the liverpool game to me. 3 centre backs marking 1 forward which then gives loads of room for the opposition attacking midfielders - their movement is killing us and we are all over the place communication wise. it also means we cannot keep the ball in midfield as we get outnumbered. the only difference is that liverpool are terrible at taking chances (we could have been 3 down after 20 minutes there) and chelsea are not. liverpool are also poor at the back, whereas chelsea have not given us a sniff on the break and there is the 3rd Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Posted December 23, 2012 Moderator Share Posted December 23, 2012 We got into a better run of form by working our bollocks off and realising we needed to do that to overcome our limitations - we're playing like we've started to believe those limitations have been vanquished - that ain't the case, we're nowhere near the finished article and if we start to play like we think we are we'll get beaten in all sorts of places. The attacks are always just Benteke, Weimann and Holman against 5 chelsea defenders. The formation isn't working against Chelsea.
