As someone else said they have a 2 year head start, however Fosun appear to be reigning in the spending a bit which will hamper their progress a little so it's possible we could look to close the gap if we can stop up.

Too many excuses and too many poor individual performances on the day.

Every team will have a reason to beat you if you look for it and wallow in self pity. We can be a good side, but we have to impose ourselves, you have to work for the advantage and strive for the initiative...we didn't

Its nothing to do with skill.....its to do with desire and determination to secure a result.....its has to come from the heart.....and deny the opposition to get the upper hand.

We beat Wolves 4-1 at home against the odds, 2 seasons ago.....where was the excuses then, where was the " they are ahead of us" rubbish......by all means get behind the team for the next game, but don't join in and become shrinking violets....We are Aston Villa and we won't be doing that again.

Its amazing what you can acheive when you apply yourself......We never turned up on Sunday, nothing to do with injuries all to do with not adhereing to the task in hand and taking the game to them.

some of the stuff from seasoned Pro's even shocked the manager.....its one to forget and never to be repeated.

Defeatist IMO

Norwich were ahead of us.....out of sight last season.....did that stop us from beating them 5-1 No......because we went after them and applied oursleves.

We are a decent side when we put our minds to it......but the desire has to be there.

I really think its due to letting leads go and dropping so many points. It effects confidence even if it is against the 'big teams', when other also rans are actually beating arsenal and spurs its makes us look bad or like bottlers. Norwich was the last game we looked really confident going into.

following some rough links to nuno joining arsenal their fans are outdoing themselves on twitter, they have more money, they're competing for the same things, wolves are on the up arsenal are on the way down etc

some proper nutters on there

They can't handle their relative recent success. It's gone to their heads. You'd think fans of a club who have been hovering around the Championship for the last couple of decades would have a bit more humility, but alas.

The BBC are now reporting that Arsenal are interested in Nuno if Emery leaves and he's apparently odds on favorite to be their next manager with the betting companies, so it seems to be a rumour that's growing. I'd be surprised though, don't think he'd leave Wolves part way through a season, and I'm not sure he would be a good fit for Arsenal.

other than arsenal being one of the biggest clubs in the world...

depends what he wants, if its one day to Barcelona or real madrid manager for example then even if he won the PL with wolves that's not going to happen, arsenal on the other hand are big enough to give him the job application platform, part of that application is they obviously come with more risk

I just don't think he can establish himself at the top table as a wolves manager, arsenal is a massive step up

It makes no sense for Nuno to go to Arsenal. He has strong links with Mendes, who has some agreement the Wolves board. It’s therefore set up perfectly for him. Arsenal on the other hand would be so far away from that set up

Yeah makes no sense to go to a much, much bigger and more prestigious club, what on earth must he be thinking.

Wonder who Wolves would target as replacement. Someone from abroad obviously....or Marco Silva...

the flamengo manager is being linked with the everton job, Portuguese, 65, just won the copa libertadores, only has a 1 year contract with them

might be a better fit for wolves

Arsenal are going through a bumpy patch at the moment but they're much more likely to be challenging for honours and qualifying for champions league than Wolves in the next five to ten years, they'd also give him more money to spend and pay him a bigger salary, he might'd also feel that if he didn't take an opportunity like this now he wouldn't get another chance. There was a story earlier this year that if was to leave then Wolves want Bruno Lage to takeover, I think he's a Mendes client.

Jesus apparently only speaks Portuguese ans went to Flamengo as he doesn't want to learn other language

He would be fun in England as is a Portuguese Warnock with success

Attitude, he is known for having a go at refs, opposition in the media and acting like a dickhead in general. Sure he went to goad the River fans after the game on Saturday instead of celebrating with his own players and fans. Its his thing he is an arsehole

Not to mention he is an old school manager who doesn't change tactics or style

OK fair enough.

He's also usually attractive and attacking with tactics. High pressing and lots of movement off the ball.

And he's also known for his fashion and stylish clothes :)

And as you mentioned hugely successful.
