That transfer list is shocking. Toure on a free was obviously good business. Sturridge and Coutinho have been value for money, but can you say that about many more?

Emre Can at under £10m will prove to be pretty shrewd I believe. But yeah, not many.

You can't go round smearing the good name of liverpool - the great Liverpool teams of the 70's and 80's were built on home grown talent and bargains plucked from the lower leagues.....

No no, don't get me wrong, I'm saying I think there is not a drastic amount different, City have built a multiple championship winning side... and Liverpool are dropping like a stone.

I was being sarcastic myself  - were it villa who spent £200m on a load of tripe - it would be all over the back pages. However Liverpool have many friends in the media and always get a favourable press.

I think the problem at Anfield is they genuinely believe there own propaganda....

Was listening to some pre match discussion on Radio Five Live. My god, it was the most boring cack I've heard for a long time. Bill Shankly got mentioned about 300 times and how Rogers needs to copy his game/transfer policy/management skills. Christ on a bike, get a grip you morons. This is 2014, football is different from 1959.

Sterling escapes any action from the FA over the slap he gave to that Swansea player. Disgusting.

Yet the FA ban Shelvey for 3 games for a flailing arm. No consistency at all.

Tell me the difference between Benteke getting sent off v Spurs and what Sterling did.

Sterling plays for a "top 6" club while Benteke doesn't. Typical FA

Apparently the fa deem that the referee saw the incident and dealt with it during the game, which just goes to show (a) how stupid the rules on retrospective punishment are and (B) that we're currently lumped with the worst batch of referees in premier league history.
