Think yourself lucky. It's marginally more acceptable than Postman Pat.

Its right there in black and white, chap.

Just for s*its and giggles, I did a very unscientific comparison of games played vs goals for some of our old player to see how Gabby stacked up against them.... using stats from Soccerbase.com I came up with

Player                                  Pld        Goals      Rate           296 matches

Tony Morley  *                   179          34          0.190         56

Gabby Agbonlahor           296        74           0.25            74

Juan Pablo Angel             134        44           0.33            97

Dean Saunders                 115         38          0.33             97

Darius Vassell                   107         35          0.33             97

Savo Milosevic                 86            29          0.34           100

Dwight Yorke                     200        73           0.365         108

Luke Moore                      36             14         0.39            115 (!)

David Platt                        121          50          0.413          122

John Carew                       89           37          0.416          123

Julian Joachim                 90             39          0.43           128

Darren Bent                        45          21           0.467          138

Peter Withe *                      182           90         0.495         146

Gary Shaw *                        165          78         0.47            140

Johnathan Kodjia             36           19          0.53             156

<edited to put them in order>

These figures are for league games only. For the legends Shaw, Morley and Withe, it includes league and cup games as these were the only stats I could find

I love these comparison charts, but can you explain what the last column is? 296 Matches? I can't seem to work it out..

I think it is extrapolation. Also I just wanted to use that word.

He looks dangerous so far today, gotta say I'm impressed. If he can sustain this he will definitely be an asset over the season.

Targeting redemption maybe?

Redemption and a possible new contract. Yes though, I do agree he's looking sharp so far.

It's as Jareth said.... Extrapolation..... It's a very unscientific calculation of how many goals they would have scored for us if they had played 296 matches and continued scoring at the same rate as they did over their actual time with us.

only reason he looks motivated is it is hes last year of contract otherwise he wouldnt give a dam. He has been terrible for what 5 seasons now ? He could score 40 goals and Im still not sure I would want him to have a new contract
