Me and the ex have text each other since the official break-up. Not the best idea, I know. But we originally had to because she needs to get the rest of her stuff from my house, and then a few texts carried on from there. We both know it's for the best though, deep down, I think. You gonna cut contact altogether? I'm nearing 5 months post breakup, feel alot better than I did but I still think of her every day. Getting weird now. I'm 4 months down that line. Wouldn't say everyday but most days a thought pops up. No where near as bad as I was but still. Need to get back into the dating game really even just to have some fun and occupy my mind. She's asked if she can see the cats in the future (we, well I, have 2 cats) and I couldn't bring myself to say no. Also, I'm rubbish at shoving the tablets down their throat, so if I struggle with that, I may have to resort to her coming round. Or, I'll just be an actual man and.... Pay the vet to do it. I think you need to start getting out there, if you haven't already. It sounds like you need something new to finally push her out of your head. Obviously I don't know her but it sounds as though it's quite a convenient excuse to stay in contact and visit sometimes. I think if she was looking to cut ties and end it she would either sacrifice seeing the cats, knowing they were in good hands, or ask to keep them herself. I think that she actually wants to see the cats, if possible, and it's not to do with me. She said in a text that when she was collecting all of her things from my house, she was in tears saying bye to the cats, but the only thing that made her feel better was that she knew I wasn't too mean to not let her see them.
