The RJW63 Official Jack Grealish Appreciation Thread

Theres never been a player quite as universally loved as Jack. Truly unique. Players do come and go but none like this. He has defined an era of hope, restoration and we were hoping it would go beyond that to perhaps some form of glory. City have ruined is before, if it happens again after all that heartache getting back to this point it will be pure despair. Thats the truth. Jack gives us a reason to be optimistic and we know we can hold our own again in this league because of him. Without him, we look a different side and im sick of City dropping £60m on every player 20 times over so that they can have a bench worth half a billion every week. Then they can just take our favourite son for £100m on top of that, all whilst under a ridiculous ffp investigation when the whole world knows they’ve cooked all their books. Laughable really but it does make you think whats the bloody point

The fact that the club have offered him a new contract and he still haven't signed is a bad sign.

It means he is considering his options, and we don't like that. As Villa fans we'd like to think this would be an easy decision for him. But it clearly is not.

Who said he hasn't signed it?

How do release clauses work in terms of the structure of the payment? Could we say that the release clause is only triggered IF the the structure of the deal is what we want? (ie, 80% of the fee upfront and the rest in instalments or whatever). Or is it a case if the fee is hit regardless of the structure it has to be accepted?

19/20 teams in the Prem: would like the fee to be paid upfront and would carry out the structure of the deal with no problems whatsoever.

Arsenal: would want to pay 20% of the fee upfront and you would never see the other 80% for love no money from the cheating scumfags.

He’s on holiday until tomorrow, he hasn’t been at the club.  Mate, don’t be disingenuous.

Man City wouldn't be wasting there time bidding if Jack wanted to stay......

I will be disappointed in him if he goes this summer when he could have given fans a season to see him at Villa Park in the flesh so to speak.

Why do Man City think a decision will be made quickly?

Can't blame people for being suspicious because this sounds exactly like what United fans were saying last summer.

I don't know how a Villa fan who's been watching him all year could think Jack's stock will be going down this year. No offense at all mate, it just reads like something a City fan would say.

Im not a City fan and Im not saying his stock will go down, its just that it could. Its a risk and it could go up or down...its just a very good time to sell off the back of a high profile euro campaign.

Aston Villa wouldn’t be wasting their time bidding if Emile wanted to stay……

I know it’s hard, let the process play out and be patient.  We will be in good shape either way.

Because the decisions to be made are out of their hands basically.

Weird vibes in here not gonna lie im out.

Are you really surprised that people are on edge / losing their minds over the ramping up of rumors that Villas golden boy Grealish is on his way out after one of the top "ITKs" transfer guys said it's getting close?

That’s that then, end of a short era of having Grealish playing regularly in the senior side. Be interesting how we progress from here before we get robbed again of one of our best players to an elite side which we will never be a part of.

Football is pure trash. Man City is the ultimate draw for a player captaining his boyhood side in the premier league. Come on now, there’s no hope anymore.

Like Villa and ESR

Completely different. Man City are a whole different animal to us trying to sign an Arsenal player.

We need this done by Monday so we can move on. Might be an idea for the club to get a wriggle on with their signings because a lot of players who may have wanted to join us this week, might not next week.

Apart from thats not that then

Romano is the same as all the others, had a bit of success, got his name out there and then just started guessing with an air of confidence to make it sound like he knows something

Every day it seems you say a requiem to Jack's Villa career. He hasn't left.

Looks like is off, snake

If he goes he is just desperate for Champions League football which he is highly unlikely to get here.

I'd still like him to stay one more year to see where the club goes but not a snake in my eyes if he goes.
