Aston Villa are attempting to make contact with captain Jack Grealish after police investigated reports of a Range Rover crashing into parked cars in a Birmingham suburb.

Images emerged on social media on Sunday of a white Range Rover, as well as a separate picture of a man resembling Grealish wearing slippers and a hoodie apparently in conversation with another person. It is not clear when the pictures were taken.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: 'We were called to Waterside, Dickens Heath, just before 10am to reports that a Range Rover had crashed into two parked cars in the street.

An image of a man resembling Jack Grealish, wearing slippers, circulated on social media, claiming he was nearby the incident

'The driver left his details with a member of the public at the scene before leaving on foot, and will be spoken to by police in due course.

'Minor damage was caused to the parked vehicles. Officers are investigating the circumstances and anyone with information has been asked to get in touch.'

Current government advice during the coronavirus crisis states that citizens should leave their homes only to shop for basic necessities, to exercise once a day, for any medical need, or travelling to work if they cannot work from home.

Grealish is the club captain of Aston Villa and has been with his boyhood club since 2001

Indeed, Grealish himself reiterated that message on social media over the weekend when he posted a video.

As with the rest of the Premier League, Villa's players are currently following fitness programmes at home, with their Bodymoor Heath training ground closed.

Grealish has been with his boyhood club Villa since the age of six and made his breakthrough in 2013-14. He has since go on to become a key member of the squad and now wears the captain's armband.

Google produces little and all the posts about this seems to be from blues, baggies or wolves fans which sort of kills credibility

Am I only one that doesn’t care about this? It just doesn’t seem significant anymore.

There isn’t going to be any football anytime soon anyway.

Depends on the actual circumstances.  No need to jump to conclusions just yet.

Bluenoses in Dickens Heath would love to take down Jack, the picture doesn't necessarily prove he was driving, or anything more than a passenger/witness.

He seemed to have cleaned his act up after previous drunkenness on holiday and I really hope this isn't true.  It is a crazy world right now but the last thing any of us need is this sort of attention focused on our captain/club!

No denial from Grealish himself on twitter makes me think it's legit tbh. He got across the Utd thing real quickly himself.

Massively shot himself in the foot here in terms of a big summer move. This will be clubs suddenly unsure of spending huge on him now, we won't be dropping our price.

No problem with him doing whatever through the summer, he's proven to be a model pro during the season for 6 years solid now. This is a terrible move from him though.

Looking at the positives........Well, its one way of keeping him at the club.

Man U / suitors, won't want to touch him.

If it’s true, and I first heard it about 30 mins ago from a reliable source, then I don’t care who wants to buy him, I don’t want him anywhere near our club.

Big damage to us on and off the pitch but this is too big to be swept under the carpet or hope it’ll be soon forgotten. The boy is a complete imbecile. The board and everyone else at the club will be apoplectic! If it’s true, kick him out!

Look at the actual quote and statement from the police with regards to what happened... And the read the headline... And then try and find anywhere where it says any quote from anyone at villa...

They even have to use media 101 and throw in the word "resembling" because they can't guarantee it was him! That article is bollocks

Even if he’s done it by the time he plays football again it will be forgotten.  Footballer’s don’t have any football, they will be themselves and unfortunately you’ll see the bad sides to them.

If he was pissed, he wouldn't have been allowed to walk away.

At worse, he went somewhere, and crashed.

Yeah cos no celebrity has ever used their influence to get out of doing something inappropriate.

That's not to say he has done anything, but your reasoning is a tad naive.

The story goes as I said earlier that him and Tony Capaldi went to Ross Mcgatemacks last night and then this happened this morning. I heard this about an hour or 2 after it happened. It came from a lad who is good mates with Capaldi, who drinks with McCormack and a Mr Barry Bannan regularly.
