My guess is that he wants to get back in the first team so he's overdoing the instructions Pep gives him to retain possession. All wingers need to be able to take on defenders and go past them, if you just take three touches and pass it sideways all the time you aren't going to be effective. Might have lost some of the hunger he had as well, he's done it all now. Nothing really left to achieve. But he really has lost that spark that gave him the edge and made him so exciting to watch. Just doesn't play with the same level of freedom and expression that he used to and it's kinda sad to see in some ways. The robotic nature of Pep's football just doesn't suit him at all from a purely footballing pov imo. If I had to choose one or the other, it’s not even close. A world class manager is worth far more than a world class player, in basically any scenario IMO.
