Finished season 1 of handmaid's tale this week, been on the list for a long time, its very good, not sure if it attacks religion or the class system more but I'm enjoying that, it's very cock on the block in places which gets a big tick from me, moss is always superb

Wasn’t it the banana splits that the Arabian nights cartoon was on?

Finally got beyond the second episode of Breaking Bad. Close to the end of S2 now and still not convinced. It's pretty schlocky stuff on the whole. Some decent dialogue and acting, but the storyline is idiotic and some of the side plots are even worse. It doesn't help that I dislike every character. The most likeable is Hank, but that's not saying much. But I'll stick with it because it's entertaining enough and everyone says it gets progressively better.

I am starting season 4 and I am in the same boat, I was also not convinced first time around. I will finish it, its not terrible but is a lot of filler episodes you can see that it was such low budget but I dont think it is anywhere near the hype it receives

It's incredible. My wife and I call it "trauma porn."

S1 is Attwood's book. S2 sees the writers take over. It's pretty damn good and also very disturbing - Especially between OfFred & Aunt Lydia.

S3 I really didn't like. I thought it was a jumbled mess. However, I rewatched it last week as S4 is coming out in a few weeks and it seemed better the 2nd time through.

Yes, yes, and yes. I'm slightly surprised that you do, even I was quite young when they were on.

In other news, also slightly surprised at the lukewarm reactions to 'The Terror', I thought it was superb (with a slight reservation about the 'monster' element).

And speaking of monsters, just watched the first two episodes (no spoilers, please) of the Norwegian 'Monster'. One of the most noir-ish of Scandi noirs, it seems to have touches of 'Twin Peaks'.

Half way through Pennyworth season 2. Really is a great show and should be on a more high profile platform instead of being tucked away behind 2 paywalls on Amazon. Should be easy to "acquire' if you know, you know. Paloma Faith really is good in it, who'd of thought she could act.
