Anyone Watching A Good Tv Show?

The Punisher S2 was alright but not amazing.

For me there were too many storylines, none of which were properly fleshed out so it felt a little messy and unfinished in places.

Spoiler

They also totally messed up Jigsaw - his face should’ve been a complete mess of stitches and scars instead of the ‘coolly scarred’ handsome boy look.

Personally they should’ve held jigsaw back for S3 (although that  isn’t happening now) and developed the politician storyline better.

Finishing the latest Ray Donovan tonight - now there’s a program that continually delivers. This season has been brilliant and the transition from LA to New York has been effortless and hasn’t taken anything away from the show.

Anyone given Umbrella Academy a go? I’m 2 episodes in, intrigued more than excited so far. Robert Sheehan is brilliant though

I think it’s ace!

It’s funny, intriguing, Looks brilliant, great soundtrack and yeah Sheehan is ace. Aidan Gallagher and Mary J Blige are great as well.

Top stuff.

Death In Paradise, lovely setting but the solving of each murder is always built on such flimsy evidence, and the culprit is far too quick to admit they did it.

I hadn’t watched it before last year. It was one of those shows that feels like it has been on forever, apparently really popular and despite never watching a minute of it I kinda felt like I knew a fair bit about it (hello “Silent Witness”).

Have seen a couple now. Yeah nice setting and I can see the cosy appeal it has. I can’t tell if the gathering of the suspects while the detective explains how he solved the case is genuinely sincere or a piss take on the genre though. I think it might be the former. Overall, not really my thing but I don’t mind it.

But Josephine Jobert though....

Much better than the previous season, where Ray spent 12 episodes maudlin over his wife.

And I hope they write the son out of it, he's a pointless character and a crap actor.

Also absolutely loving Russian Doll. Really well written comedy and Natasha Lyonne is terrific in it.

We finished it in 2 nights, then I ordered a copy of the LP with "Gotta Get Up" on it, it's a proper earworm tune :)

I'm watching surviving r Kelly

My god this guy is pure scum how the hell he has never gone to prison for all these allegations is insane.

Definitely watch this if you get a chance.

Allegations being the key word.

It's an interesting one. The TV series has potentially been a major factor in 10 indictments coming to fruition today...Yet it may be what saves him. How can you have an impartial jury when some TV studio has broadcast a show like that on international TV?

Same here, two nights and we'd blasted through the whole thing. Really entertaining and original show, even though the time loop idea has been done a million times before. Hope they make more.

Well you say that but it’s actually a lot of evidence there, people from his own setup saw him having sexual interactions with various minors including Aaliyah. Someone a

so admitted to forging Aaliyah’s age when they got married.

The juriers can argue they have never seen it. The first trial was a joke. Complete and utter corruption. I don’t think he will get off this time when you consider all th3 scandals going on in Hollywood. This one just looks blatant to me.

I’ve started “The Assassination of Gianni Versace”, the next installment in the American Crime Story series (following “The People vs OJ Simpson”)

This seems pretty good again so far. The OJ one was a superb show, so hoping for more of the same from this. Going to have a good binge this weekend.

This is reviewing surprisingly well...

DC Universe's second big release after Titans, which was... divisive, this seems to have been pretty well liked everywhere.

I know very little about the Doom Patrol, other than that they are a group of really shit heroes that have mostly fought really bizarre threats, and Grant Morrison had the most lauded run on it (and given he specialises in weird, probably not too surprising). Cyborg to my knowledge has nothing to do with them but DC love shoehorning him in wherever they can.

I thought this looked awful when the first pictures came out during filming but it looks... alright in all honesty here. Don't think it has an official release anywhere outside the US yet but I'd wager it'll turn up on Netflix or the like soon enough. And looks like it might be fun.
