Watched American beauty last night. Truly brilliant. Never really been a Kevin spacey fan but he was first class in this. 9 out of 10.

Others I watched recently :

Troy - 7 out of 10. Very underrated I like it. Beautifully shot as well.

Trainspotting - 9 out of 10. Best. British. Movie. Ever!

The fighter - 6.5 out of 10. It's good bale was excellent but don't think I'd want to watch it again.

Public enemies - 2.5 out of 10.lol what a disgrace of a movie. First class cast, first class director and still they produce this mess. Johnny Depp was awful

Have to say I agree with each of them scores entirely...apart from Public Enemies, I don't really feel able to comment on that because I can't remember barely anything about the film even though I have seen it so I am guessing your score is pretty accurate

anyway

watched this again the other day, christ knows how many times I have seen it but it is awesome and never gets boring, not much else to be said about it

watched this today, thought it was pretty good, well made but at times it got slightly annoying, I'd probably give it a 7 out of 10

In fact, Joon Ho Bong also directed Memories of Murder which is rather brilliant and his new movie Snowpiercer looks great (really good cast too)

Partridge film was alright.Regularly amusing but no exceptionally funny moments, nothing that'll make the film particularly memorable days after you've seen it. However just enough jokes to keep me satisfied though. Struggled with the length a bit, turning a sitcom into a film, the padded bits weren't tied together too well. 6.5/10

Just stuck on Iron Man 3

saw it at the cinema and thought it was decent, I thought it was better than Iron Man 2 (which had its faults but wasn't as bad as everyone made it out to be in my opinion) there were some absolute massive balls ups in Iron Man 3 as well though.

After being on my to watch list for over a decade, have finally got round to watching Schindler's List. Nothing new to add to what's undoubtedly been said, but what a magnificent film - the ability to capture the realities of this history so sensitively was really impressive, and goodness Liam Neeson, Kingsley and Fiennes all deserved oscars, though Neeson was extra superb.

googling it up later I didn't realise how much of the particulars of the Schindler story were actually true. Amazing.

Watched the Steve Jobs documentary on netflix this week. First impressions were that it wasn't very good or interesting and then I realised I was just watching a 50 minute long ad for Apple. No doubt the Ashton Kutcher film will be in a similar vein.

Lovelace - the story of how Linda Lovelace got in and out of porn in 17 days.

Her husband appears to have been a bit of a low life who went on to marry Marilyn Chambers.

The film was very one sided and the part of Lovelace was well played by Amanda Seyfried

I guess what was most surprising was how main stream Deep Throat became in the US especially when you consider when it was made.

A quick mention for Sharon Stone who was almost unrecognisable as Lovelaces mother.

I quite like the look of jobs, the trailer was decent

red 2 - it was ok, I liked red 1 but it didn't really need a sequel and it feels like it, malkovich steals every scene he's in again but the willis / parker story is a bit shit and annoying and it takes up far too much of the film

kick ass 2 - wasn't overly fussed when I first saw no 1 (really enjoyed it on the 2nd viewing though) this one IMO is a bit unbalanced, you have the main 2 characters trying to be all serious and reflective whilst everything else is just brilliantly daft, well worth a watch, some genuinely hilarious moments and plenty of violence, really hope they don't do a third, its finished IMO

who the **** are union j? probably a good thing that I have no idea

also saw a trailer for R.I.P.D looked good, and Im starting to think pain gain looks half decent too

Saw The Place beyond the Pines last night, loved every minute. Wish Gosling was in it a bit longer. Don't get the hatred for the third act? Thought each act was brilliantly done and pieced together.

9/10 for me.

Great film although

Spoiler on the film's narrative --

Do you think Avery should have died/been killed/suffered a bit?
