Lazy?

Good on the ball, not so good off it. Zaniolo put more of a shift in.

Early days, but i wasn't impressed tonight

At one stage I thought it was more that he looked gassed

Maybe he's not there yet for more than 20 mins in the PL

We know players take being subbed on and then subbed off again pretty hard, and we know from recent revelations re Bailey that Emery did it to him to make a point, and it's not hard to imagine the same applies here.

This should be a big lesson, a big learning experience for him. In the first half they were a mess in their defensive shape, he had time and space and above all we had most of the ball. He looked calm, confident and composed. But then when they reorganised shape after the Hashioka sub meant he had to deal with both Kabore and Ogbene, he never moved into another gear, he was still playing like we were in complete control. Offered zero protection to Moreno, got done positionally multiple times, and should have been booked one foul before he actually was (it was a cynical foot left in).

Feels like he was playing this one like it was a Championship game but Premier League teams go up gears and are rarely truly beaten, you can't just slack off concentration.

This is harsh af. He was brilliant for the first 20 mins or so. Clearly not totally fit and was stifled by the yellow. Incredibly impressive first 20 minutes though - not sure what you were watching. We signed him for about 8 million quid as a huge prospect for the future, what were you expecting here?

Today was a big learning curve for him

exactly this.

its a learning curve for him, moments of promise, moments of learning and improvement.

If anyone is calling him out after so few minutes for us, you really need to have a look at urself.

Will have learnt a lot from that game, it’s a big step up from the championship. He will need time but has something about him.

Alot of work to do. Looked a player first half, but died a death 2nd half, huge learning curve.

But harder than the Championship ennit lad!

Agree with the above but on our side looked anything other than crap in the second half?

Thought he looked good until he got his yellow then fell apart a little bit. It's a big step up and he's only young, you can see the potential is there. I'm sure he will turn out a good player for us

Some have stated already but he tired as the 2nd half went on. Couple that with the yellow and he had to come off. Good showing but miles away from starting in the PL.

Nearly scored and some great passes and vision, £8m is unbelievable tbh. Once he got a yellow card he was always going to struggle. The ref was shocking tbh..

He should have been booked for the cynical kick out on the foul before his booking. His performance was not on the ref. He just has some learning to do but looks like he has potential.
