Match Thread: Brentford v Villa

In general play we've been fine.

But yet again away lack of concentration in either box costs us

Just constant individual errors all season resulting in soft goals conceded.

And go to love Konsa rolling it into Cash edge of the box and going for the return (which was 100% the play) only to see Cash try and turn onto his right foot straight into a defender. How was he ever a winger?

I think we identified in the summer that without Luiz we lacked someone who could really control and pass the ball in midfield and create around the opposition box - so we went out and bought Tielemans, he's our plan B when the creativity of Luiz isn't there - without both we're half the side we should be.

We don't really have much in terms of options either - it'd be nice to bring a couple of midfielders on, but there's only Iroegbunam on the bench.

Zaniolo adds shots from outside the box which might be useful against the low block and Bailey adds both pace and the ability to beat his player. And a nice shot from outside. We'll have ways to chance the game in the second half.

Too many players off it today. I thought Moreno has looked lively going forward but the goal may not have happened if Digne had have been playing.  Cash off for Bailey and maybe even take Ramsey off for Dendoncker to give ius a bit more strength in midfield and get Mcginn further forward.

Both our wing options don't know how to beat a man, been like it all season, so easy for the defender when they know your gonna cut in everything, there's no overlapping at all.

Another shocking away performance, regardless of players out, the players that have come in need to be better, Ramsey is shocking and only gets away with it as he's one of our own 🤬

We need a big 2nd half to turn this around, Brentford are not that good.

We’ve not been terrible but we are really missing the incisive passing that Doug and Youri bring. You can almost see the rust on Ramsey and Moreno, which is to be expected given their injuries. A scrappy goal from Brentford but they’ve had some chances, as have we but we’ve been too ponderous and over played too often.

It’s been fairly even and I hope that late goal gives us an injection of energy and creativity now, I don’t want us to falter to a 1 or 2 nil defeat.

Calm down lads. It's half time, they have had a lucky goal. We have been the better team. We will turn this around. Have faith.

Mate we really havent

We had one shot that tested their keep at the end. We have been pretty poor just like Bournemouth

Moreno was all over the place for their goal, swatting at the ball with a stretched out toe… it was like he wasn’t concentrating at all

Looked extremely amateurish that, rusty or not
