The forest forum is saying 80k ish a week, 1 year deal with a hefty signing on fee. I hate lingard, but that deal sounds much more realistic, with the signing on fee effectively reflecting a transfer type fee. Is everyone at City demanding to be on a par with De Bruyne, is everyone at United demanding to be on par with Ronaldo, heck, is everyone at Villa demanding to be on the same as Coutinho? I doubt it. He’s the biggest name at the club, if he goes there and does well I doubt it’ll be much of an issue, even if he does badly it’s only a one year deal so it’s not going to end up like an Ozil situation. I don't think you can compare lingard with those players, even comparatively with the level that forest are at. And the players you mentioned, there will be few players in the world who could command a similar salary. Basically, I don't think lingard is that much better than what they've got, and if they were to go for similarly average players in the future then those players would want a similar salary.
