But looking at the Venn diagram - having Luiz and Bentancur would be absolutely amazing. Two of the best U23 midfielders (last year) in European top flight football playing together... wow!!!! He's a 24 year old who is not only a (very) good footballer, but is experienced at the very top end of the game. Raved about before the 2018 World Cup (as I said before) and backed up those rave reviews during the competition. Maybe his form has dropped at Juventus - I have no idea how they play, I don't regularly watch Serie A and an underperforming team will quite literally always have the majority of their players slated on a forum. As a reminder, check out how Jordan Veretout's career has gone since he left us after "being shit". It happens a lot of the time right across the footballing world. But, hey, let's assume he doesn't work out for us and we look to move him on. In my opinion, we'd be able to recoup at least what we paid for him. Footballing CV matters a lot and when you've got that pedigree, with those stats, you'll still command a pretty penny. Aside from the usual wind-ups who just post for a reaction every time they log on, I don't think the "negativity" is too bad to be honest. It's certainly not as visceral as the complaints about all the negativity (not your post particularly). People are posting opinions on a player on a discussion forum. Shock. My "complaints" if you will, are more about the sort of player he is than much on his ability. What you say is correct. That many games for Juve/Uruguay...he can't be that bad. I certainly don't put too much into what some loud online Juve fans say. Do you? If you don't, great. Keep ignoring them. I'm still excited even if I don't think he's the player the team is missing. An indication of something doesn't always lead to the outcome you expect. I've heard a rumour, that's all. Whether it turns out to be true we'll find out soon enough.
